@simonateba

Good morning, everyone! As she is being considered a potential pick for Trump's VP, in one word, kindly describe the youngest governor in the USA, the first woman and 47th governor of Arkansas, 41-year-old former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders (@SarahHuckabee)

Correct. If it is a woman it will be Elise Stepanik.

Going on memory, thanks for the correction, and my bad as I have posted that quote several times, so should have posted it this time.

That said, it’s logical to consider that McCain Republicans may have supported McCain in the past. But perhaps they did not.

Still, a stupid strategy by Lake.

Not a bad guy but I don't see him as able to pull New York or New Jersey into the R column. The two states have lost too many normal Americans to Florida and other Southern states to revert to their pre-1988 purple status.

Ditto for Kari Lake. Arizona can flip R, but there is terrible corruption in Maricopa County. Her gubernatorial opponent, now Governor Katie Hobbs, is in the pocket of the Mexican cartels and the Maricopa County government and GOP are controlled by McCain leftovers.

My guess would be Sarah Sanders if Trump picks a woman or Greg Abbott if he chooses a man. DeSantis booted a great opportunity by his poorly conceived Presidential campaign. All Southerners, but the region most loyal to the GOP should be rewarded.

Picking a woman just because is weakness

But I like her too

I like her - your mileage may vary.

I like that she is one of the few Trump allies who knows what it’s like to have an election stolen - we need people that won’t back away from that important issue. When a Trump ally will talk about “election integrity” but won’t come right out and say the words “stolen election”, I get suspicious that they won’t have his back when the chips are down. I don’t worry about Kari Lake on that score.

I like that she’s got a media background. She can run circles around her fellow alumnae in a press conference or in a debate. She has a VERY sharp wit - she’s like Trump in that way - ever misses an opportunity to score a zinger.

Also, she’s MAGA all the way.

But even if she’s not your VP pick, don’t be too quick to dismiss her - (let’s not be guilty of the “addition by subtraction” strategy, as you said). She’s a loyal and articulate friend of Trump and MAGA, and we can use all the friends we can get.

I agree. His roots are in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and Italy several generations back. But Florida has not had an old stock Southerner as Governor since Lawton Chiles.

...she was referring to the present day McCain machine since that present day machine trashes Lake.

Still, a stupid strategy by Lake.

A lot worse was DeSantis calling (some?) Trump supporters, "listless vessels".

I agree. Lake meets all of my requirements for VP. BUT, she's currently running for the AZ Senate seat so there is no way she will be picked.

“whether they are sufficiently hated/feared by the Left”

If that’s the criterion, I think that would be Kari Lake or Matt Gaetz.

I like another FReeper's suggestion of Glenn Youngkin for Vice President.

Youngkin is term-limited by Virginia's non-consecutive term laws, he's strong on education, strong on parental rights, and could put Virginia in play.

Since Youngkin's term isn't up until 2026, if he runs and wins, then Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears will complete the term, becoming the first black female governor of Virginia.

I like both of them.. I also like Tucker Carlson - not a politician but then neither was President Trump. P

Here’s a name nobody has mentioned: Charlie Kirk.

I think Charlie Kirk has mentioned Charlie Kirk himself, in the context of he’s not interested!

“…he’s not interested!”

Almost everyone says that for one reason or another.

It has been said that the best leaders are reluctant leaders. They are humble and do not seek power or celebrity. The best leaders also tend feel a strong sense of commitment to their current calling, in Charlie’s case, his audience and his Turning Point movement.

The best leaders will only serve reluctantly, out of a sense of duty.

The idea of Charlie Kirk as VP is a VERY much a long shot, and his reluctance is admirable for reasons stated above - but he would strike fear in the hearts of the enemies of MAGA, and that’s just what we need in a VP right now.

We need someone that will 1) keep President Trump safe by convincing his enemies that the VP would be even worse for them. And we need someone that could lead the MAGA movement beyond Trump.

If President Trump wants Kirk as his running mate, I imagine he can be quite persuasive.

Did she say NO? Or/ “I’m not interested?” A woman can change her mind with no repercussions. It’s just the way it is.
