A Utah senator has demanded for toddlers who have not been toilet trained by their parents be denied admission to kindergarten after reports of 'accidents' double.
Republican senator Douglas R. Welton has proposed the HB331 bill which states that schools can only admit children on the condition that they have been bathroom trained.
The bill demands that the Utah State Board of Education create a process for schools to ensure incoming kindergarten students are toilet trained, including 'assurances from a parent'.
The bill is in response to a growing number of cases of children not being trained over the past few years.
Kindergarten teachers in several districts have said that they are encountering behaviors from children never seen before the pandemic.
'We're seeing some aggression and we're also seeing kids who aren't potty trained,' said Jennifer Millett, kindergarten specialist in the Granite School District.
She further said that schools are now bringing in diaper changing stations and parents to help.
The senator said the rising cases of children not being trained are creating health risks for toddlers and problems for teachers.
Welton explained that when teachers chose to help children, they create 'liability' issues for themselves especially when a 'culture that seems to not trust teachers' exists.

what country did they migrate in from?
well I sympathize ... there is no way this would be ok with the American Disabilities Act.
Garbage legislation that has no constitutional warrant, should never have been passed or signed, but nobody has the guts to repeal.
It didn’t, having been to kinder myself sending 3 kids through. Occasional accidents, yes, but no conscientious parent sends their 4-5 year old to school in diapers because they were never potty trained.
“what country...”
Precisely! These 3rd worlders poop and pee whenever and wherever
It happened a couple of times that I remember. Our teacher kept a spare pair of pants and underwear for the couple of times the kids peed their pants.
“what country did they migrate in from?”
I never thought of that. Yes some third world shit hole where they don’t potty train just let the kid run around without pants on until they learn to use a toilet.
I never knew of 5 year old’s having accidents.
When we were 4 we went to nursery school and like Kindergarten that was half a day. I don’t know what these public schools are pulling now but I liked the old way better.
Looks to me their new way is failing.
how many different languages are spoken by the toddlers
how many different languages do the “teachers/care givers” speak?
are the kiddos & teachers equipped with cell phones with google translate?
The teacher at my sub primary (kindergarten) had a pair of gray pants if a kid had an accident. I don’t recall them ever getting used.
I knew a guy that would regularly pee his pants in college, but that was when he passed out on the common room sofa and we’d dip his hand in a pitcher of warm water :)
The kids are gonna have a hard time as a result of the parents they have.
I never thought of that. Yes some third world shit hole where they don’t potty train just let the kid run around without pants on until they learn to use a toilet.”
The third world doesn’t need to learn to use a toilet. It is against their culture.
Well, the parent should have to pick up the child at school if there's an accident.
” ‘culture that seems to not trust teachers’ exists.”
Gee, I wonder why a parent wouldn’t want their kid’s pants & undies taken off by a blue haired tranny who just finished a lesson on BJ’s from pre-pubescents.
If legislation like this is passed, will it apply to elderly Presidents as well, or just apply to young children?
Lazy inattentive parents should themselves keep their un potty trained kids out of school. But if the kids are in school, the parents can indulge in their laziness.
Sad that a law needs to be passed to fix this kind of a problem.
Put it at the local school level...not legislation.
Toddlers in kindergarten???????
A 4 or 5 year old is NOT a toddler.
A child should be fully trained by the time they get into school.
That said, it may be the kids have learned that they either get sent hoe or get attention by having *accidents*. In a church I attended many years ago, there was one little girl who everyone knew was potty trained but hated nursery and would not stay in it. She learned very quickly that if she had an *accident, mom would come and take her out.
The mom kind of excused it away and laughed it off and the kid was a spoiled rotten brat. The mom was a pushover. I cannot imagine where that child is today in life.
