Red6 Since you are a vet will you tell me one thing? Do they not have a Nervous Hospital for vets?

“Natalie Kastner, a 39-year-old disabled veteran from Texas, took a knife to her own testicles because the VA wasn’t paying for a procedure “

The VA must have some padded cell for this guy. If not then that is where we need to make changes.

I do not know the detailed specifics of that case other than what’s in the MSM and that is often not complete or is spun (another source): https://www.stripes.com/veterans/2024-01-25/veterans-affairs-transgender-surgery-lawsuit-12794371.html

This is my opinion (2 points on this topic):

(1) From a former life in federal law enforcement (post military - I know, cliche), I can tell you that one of the biggest problems we face with folks that have totally lost it is that unless they pose an imminent threat to themselves or others, you can’t really do much.

A cop if suspecting an individual is unstable will normally ask in some way if a person is thinking about hurting themselves or others, and normally even if the person is nuts they know enough to say “no.”

So you end up with a lot of outright crazy folks on the streets/under the bridge that are ticking time bombs.

But what is the alternative? Take people in and force medicate them against their will as was done in the past?

(2) The DoD and specifically the Army was flooded by these transgender and others when DADT was lifted in the Obama era (2011): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_Ask,_Don%27t_Tell_Repeal_Act_of_2010 This person is likely one of these.

This is not Politically Correct, but many of these folks are cluster F#@&s. There is a functional reason why historically they didn’t get a security clearance and were barred from military service. It wasn’t just a societal bias against LGBTQIA, but rooted in functional issues that arise since many of these folks are unstable, HIV/AIDS is an issue and the DoD relies on it’s own service members primarily for it’s blood supply, a lot of these folks are easy targets for recruitment by foreign intel services... I can give many, many examples: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_Manning

Today, it is more important to pander to everyone’s feelings than actually be able to perform. That began a long time ago (circa 1980s), with the rise of the self esteem movement in the US:

https://www.thecut.com/2017/05/self-esteem-grit-do-they-really-help.html

https://fee.org/articles/what-the-self-esteem-movement-got-disastrously-wrong/

Hurting someones feelings became unacceptable and today you need to affirm their weirdness, tell them that their dysfunction is OK, natural even though it isn’t, genetic even though it isn’t.

I would bet this person is a basket case and pre-Obama would have not been able to enlist.

Gender dysphoria is a known mental disorder........checkout the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders, volume 5.

Gender dysphoria is part of a larger class of mental disorders called body dysmorphic disorders, which are classified by disordered (dys-) thinking about one’s body (-morph).

Bulimia and anorexia nervosa are two of the better known body dysmorphic disorders.

So why do people think we should treat gender dysphoria by affirming the disordered thinking?
<><>We don’t treat depression by affirming the disordered thinking.
<><>We don’t treat anxiety by affirming the disordered thinking.
<><>If we treated anorexia and bulimia by affirming disordered thinking, people would literally die.

So why is gender dysphoria the one mental disorder that we treat by affirming a certain set of thoughts which we already know are disordered?

Why is that the one mental disorder where we assume the disordered thoughts tell you deep truths about yourself, rather than correctly identifying them as flawed and treating the disorder?

People with sexual identity disorders deserve compassion
and counseling, but certainly NOT OUR INDULGENCE.

Humoring and validating aberrant sexual fantasies is NOT “helping” them.

And giving trans people special social status and privileges is not the way to go.

The Left is exploiting these unfortunate individuals for purely political purposes –
and to create another “victim group” to pander to.

This exploitation of people with mental disorders is as despicable as it is depraved.
