The US economy added a stunning 353,000 jobs last month, far more than expectations for 176,500, pushing up all three major indexes Friday morning. The unemployment rate stayed at 3.7%.
While the numbers underscore the strength of the US economy, it remains to be seen if the data could push back the timeline for interest rate cuts, which markets were hoping would start in March.
Fed Chair Jerome Powell poured cold water on that notion Wednesday, saying there would be no rate cut that month.
The Fed is aiming to beat inflation by slowing the economy without triggering high job losses. But the labor market has so far remained impervious to the Fed's 11 rate hikes in a row, adding a healthy number of jobs every month and maintaining an unemployment rate of under 4% for close to two years.

I’m guessing that a lot of well paying jobs with benefits were replaced with a surplus of jobs at the bottom end that, frankly, are too expensive to even take. Some jobs don’t cover the cost of commuting (Biden Gas) and eating lunch, much less day care, auto maintenance, etc.
Huge upward revision to December jobs as well. Forget rate cuts until 2025.

Plenty of other companies are hiring. Its really not that hard to find a job these days.

Biden has added $6.25 trillion in deficit spending.
And, the USA population has grown by at least 10 million illegal immigrants - roughly a 3% gain - since Biden took office.

Oh? You mean you didn’t see hiring signs at your bank that said “now hiring banking associates/ starting salary $90K?” Of course you didn’t. Jobs like that aren’t posted in windows. But high paying jobs are pretty plentiful these days. If you’ve got the skills. Learn to code.
Good gosh people don’t fall for the number! After the state of the union mark my words, those numbers will disappear into thin air. It’s all a prop to make this piece of crap look presidential. They’re going to take out all the tools in their drawers to shove this turd down people’s throats. And another thing why the hell did Congress invite Biden to give a state of the union speech? All he’s gonna do is spit in their faces. For once I would like the Republicans to grow an effing spine! I’m done with them I hate them to the core!
