Taylor Swift sells off one of her $40m private jets
Daily Mail UK ^ | Feb 7, 2024

Posted on 02/07/2024 12:46:31 PM PST by CondoleezzaProtege

She previously sold a smaller Dassault Falcon 50 jet in 2020, after she purchased it in 2012 for $4million. Swift donated the proceeds to charity.

It is unclear if Swift is planning to upgrade her fleet just in time for the longest leg of her international tour starts – jetting to Australia to perform on February 16.

This comes as it was revealed Swift's lawyers sent a letter to Jack Sweeney, 21, demanding that he stop logging her flights and locations.

Sweeney, a junior at the University of Central Florida, has run several accounts that track the flight paths of planes and helicopters owned by celebrities, billionaires, politicians and other public figures.

His accounts use publicly available data, and also share the estimates of their planet warning emissions – with the college student first going head to head with Elon Musk in 2022 for sharing his jet's details.

She needs a smaller jet for US tours, and obviously a large one for international travel. Of course, she has the cash to buy one but wouldn’t it be wiser to lease or charter?

That leaves a heck of a carbon footprint.

Celebreties can suck a lemon. If they use their own private aircraft, they can expect the public to know where that aircraft is going.

And the Lawyers should be DISBARRED for this Threat over PUBLIC INFORMATION.

Since Taylor Swift is one of these people who is pushing global warming , then she should explain her carbon footprint.

Maybe she buys carbon credits, which some of these wealthy celebrity types have been known to do, in order to claim that they are carbon neutral.

Maybe she does things to minimize her carbon footprint that we don’t know about. If so she should tell us about it. Since she’s one of these celebrity types who is vocal about global warming, she should tell us what she is doing to reduce her carbon footprint.

“If they use their own private aircraft, they can expect the public to know where that aircraft is going.”

Why?

Do I have a right to know where you are going in your private car?

She bought them from John Kerry and Al Gore.

“Of course, she has the cash to buy one but wouldn’t it be wiser to lease or charter?”

She’s worth north of $1bn so it doesn’t really matter. If she spends a few million either way I’m sure it’s worth it to her to have full control of the jet.

She should buy a Boeing 757 jet. It's a good investment. I'm sure she has a lot of bodyguards, invite reporters to generate positive press on her. Personal chef and trainer. And Travis when he retires from football after this season.

Her entourage can easily reach 100 at that point.

“Do I have a right to know where you are going in your private car?”

The FAA strongly encourages flight plans although you’re free to fly without one. If she flies without one then she can have total privacy.

It depends on the flight: If the flight is over 18,000 feet altitude a flight plan is required.

Any aircraft that flies above a certain level has to file a public flight plan to enter the airspace...

Go to an airport, find a private aircraft and jot down a tail number at random...

When you get home enter the tail number into a search engine...you will likely see a detailed travel history, the owners name and address and a lot of other information.

It’s all public information.
