I haven’t read em all, but the ones I did read really had me feeling like I was there, experiencing the things going on- he was a great writer. I guess the reason I like,Sci fi is because real life is so screwed up that it’s nice to escape to other worlds from time to time- but then I have to eventUally put the book down and get back to the daily grind of life again.
I liked the chronicles of Narnia series too, but those I think were more for younger readers- but it was cool imagining being on other planets as i read through the books descriptions of other worlds.
I liked those as well.
Robert Heinlein, Phillip K Dick, JRR Tolkien, HP Lovecraft, etc.
All good stuff.
