Isn’t that great? I had not looked at that picture in a while, and not only did it make me smile warmly, I had the same feeling you did.
They were fun cars. I later at one point owned a Miata, which was a fun little roadster in it’s own right, but with a reliable heater, and drip/leak proof convertible top, I can honestly say, I didn’t appreciate bright, warm open air motoring days as much as I did in the MG!

I had a 67 MGB, way back. Had dual carbs that had a small reservoir of oil in each one.
Since I was a youngster then, it was fun.
Just think, all those kids are middle-aged and fat by now..................

JC Whitney used to sell a converter kit for the lever shocks I remember.
My brother had a 1970 Datsun 1600 which was the best Brit car of the time. Lol
Heh, I used to get the J.C. Whitney catalogue for years!
For me, it was like the Sears catalogue we would poke through as kids leading up to Christmas, the ones with Ted Williams hawking all the outdoor gear!
Prior to the web, magazines and catalogs were your goto sources for car stuff. I even used to rebuild VWs and motorcycles just using basic knowhow and manuals. No YouTube’s at all! Lol. How did we survive?
Not knocking YouTube. It’s a wonderful resource.
