Since Nancy Pelosi has set the precedent that it is acceptable to tear up the SOTU address, I hope that Speaker Johnson does the same.
I don’t remember any democrats saying that Pelosi’s insulting and disrespectful actions were inappropriate, so I am sure the democrats will be ok with Johnson doing the same.
Pelosi set the precendent, I just hope that Johnson follows her lead and gives Biden the same respect the democrats gave President Trump!
We have so much more class than the democrat criminal syndicate.

As another Freeper said, it would be great to see President Trump in the audience.
And of course the MSM will claim that what Pelosi did was proper because “Orange Man” bad. But what Johnson did was horrible because it shows disrespect to “Good ‘ol Joe” that is suffering with health issues.
That would be a very Trump thing to do. Most Republicans are too nice to do stuff like that.

Fighting the monster “down-and-dirty” is just fine with me, but tearing up his speech is petty, junior-high-school-girl down-and-dirty.
Calling him out verbally from the speaker’s podium with a simple “YOU LIE!” every time he lies — now THAT would be effective, righteous street-fighting.
Yeah, we’re “above that” or, worse, “we’re better than that” ... defeatist statements if I ever heard one.

That would utterly ROCK. President Trump, the invited guest of the Speaker and the entire Freedom Caucus! Flanked by his secret service. What an optic! The “press” would have a foaming-at-the-mouth conniption hissy.

We need to fight to place middle class property and income taxation caps in the federal and state constitutions, with the middle class being defined as persons have income in the range of federal civil servants.
In that way, income taxation can be raised to pay for wars and economic recovery by cutting top-end federal pay, which as you can imagine would only happen in cases of genuine need.
Fighting for income and real property tax caps now in Congress would add the electors of several deep blue states to Trump’s total and make Congress turn deep red come November.
It was trashy when Pelosi did it.
It would be trashy now.

Why not make it a bingo game? We know the lies he’s going to tell before he tells them. Freedom Caucus could hand out bingo cards to anyone in Congress, the audience, or the press that would take one. Speaker Johnson could have one, which the press would dutifully photograph open face up in front of him. He could have pennies marking the lies as they occur. Someone yelling out “Bingo!” every few minutes would turn the whole SOTU into a comedy routine. It’s gonna be a clown show anyway!
Whatever, but what does that have to do with the state of the union address?
Fighting them over issues their voters hold dear (such as abortion) is tough.
We need to fight to protect ourselves, our children, our incomes and our homes.
