CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Concealed-Carry License holder killed an attempted robbery suspect during a shootout on the city's South Side early Friday morning, Chicago police said.
A 60-year-old man had just used an ATM down the street from his home. He was outside when a suspect, identified only as male, approached him on a bike, police said.
Police said that's when the suspect, whose age was not immediately known, took out a gun and demanded the man's money and other belongings.
The victim, who is a valid FOID card and CCL holder, took out his own gun and an exchange of gunfire ensued, police said. Both the victim and the suspect were shot.
Police said the suspect suffered gunshot wounds throughout his body and was transported to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 60-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his back and left arm and was transported to the same hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

Here in Illinois one has to have the FOID in order to obtain a CCL. So this “local” reporter has no idea how the system works. Which is pretty much par for the course.

This is the only sort of justice that happens in Chicago these days. The harassed police simply do not arrest felons in minority areas, the Soros puppet DA does not prosecute and woke judges do not imprison. In fact a good percentage of the killings are revenge killings by the aggrieved associates and families of victims. Woke Democrat run cities are unlivable.

Same here, lived near there as a young lad in the early to mid 60’s, until we moved to the western edge of the city.
I was 84th and Ada, Cook School. and Calumet High. I got moved to Dubuque, Iowa Jan. 1954. Culture shock but for the good. Small world mate!
