Stonewalling virtually every Trump nominee.
There are some politicians who really care about what’s best for the country, and will even sacrifice to do the right thing, but it’s my judgment that most of them, particularly on the Democrat side, get into that racket so they can get rich, get famous, get laid, or some combination of those things.
Trump doesn’t need politics to get rich - he’s almost certainly lost substantial money by continuing in politics. And he was already famous (in several venues) before he became President. And I expect most of the soy boys who populate DC envy his sex life. I can’t read his heart even if I believe he truly loves the country, but it’s pretty clear he doesn’t the ego boosts that drive most of those other clowns.
That having been said, he does have the rough edges I’ve seen in many successful New Yorkers, which does have the effect of annoying many people who readily tolerate the phonies in DC. But I actually find those rough edges kind of endearing in their honesty.

He will probably face the same thing again. But even if he does, I would rather have him there than anyone else. Even if he does nothing more than cause a gridlock and prevent DC from doing anything. Gives a wise person time to prepare for the collapse that’s coming anyway.
