With the ever increasing warnings about the alleged danger of “Christian nationalism,” however ambiguous that term might be, it is only fair to ask: Is America a Christian nation? And, just as importantly: Has America ever been a Christian nation? And how does this relate to Christian nationalism?

You beat me to it, and I totally agree. Things are about to get a whole lot worse. See what happened to Israel and Judah in the OT to get a glimpse of what is about to happen to the US.
Will just note that there were those who sharply disagreed with that being in the treaty at the time; I would have been one of them. My opinion is that it was included to address Tripoli’s concern that a Christian nation would attack them solely on the fact that they were Muslims, and that the language went too far. Would also note that Tripoli broke the Treaty in 1801. (And yes, I do believe our nation was founded on Christian principles, and absolute conviction that our humanity arises from divine creation and not the laws of the state.)

Fact, once the Constitution set us free from forced religion. Which by the way is why the first settlers came here in the first place. They were evading persecution and forced religion.
The US was colonized by those who were evading religious persecution and forced national religion.

It think most Christians in America have started going “UNDERGROUND” to avoid a Saturday morning visit from Nikita Bidenev’s Gaystapo. Two huge churches have gone up across the street from each other less than a mile from my place since I moved here a few years ago. They keep a low silhouette but the churches are beautiful with large outside covered areas for church events. One has a school on the property.

My understanding is that the English version of the document, the one actually signed, never contained that language. An Arabic version did, which was the one shown to the Tripoli Muslims to quell their concern we should be considered “Christian”, therefore their natural enemy.

Clearly this country was founded by Christians and everything that flowed out of it is saturated in Christian doctrine. The very concept of “inalienable rights from God” does not derive from atheism and certainly isn’t compatible with Islamic doctrine. So, if such concepts aren’t Christian, what are they?

Well actually most of them wanted to make their own forced religion. Which is why when they got here we got a bunch of those little enclaves, religion X here, religion Y there. And is also a big part of why the fed is neutral. A lot of the settlers had actually gone to Denmark first, because it also had religious freedom, BUT Denmark’s religious freedom was a little more intense than hour, you actually can’t make little enclaves there.
We are a nation with a lot of Christians - which is not the same thing. So is Pakistan.

That’s why I hope I’m gone from this world before that happens, whether it be by the Rapture or earthly death. If our forefathers could see what’s become of the nation they loved and fought for, they’d be aghast.
