For nearly two decades, President Joe Biden has told a story about why he devoted his life to politics. He repeated the tale, at the risk of facing criminal charges for lying to a federal agent, while speaking to Special Counsel Robert Hur in October 2023.

I think the modern essence of politics is just to “say stuff”. It has to sound good. Your accomplishments have to be remarkable. Your opponent has to be an evil extremist. None of this has to be true in the slightest. Just get out there and sling some stories to impress the crowds.
That’s all there is to it. Governing affairs, managing budgets, solving problems — none of that matters in the slightest. Don’t even try to do that stuff. No one cares. It doesn’t matter. Just “say stuff” and get yourself on the TV news. End of story.
Biden has been a lying sack of Sh!t his ENTIRE LIFE.
Why would this one “tall tale” carry any more threat to him than the thousands of others he spews regularly?

He was speaking to a Justice Department official during a criminal investigation. Scooter Libby and General Flynn were indicted for much, much less obvious, and obviously deliberate misstatements.
Sadly that is probably true.
Our founding fathers built a government that expected men to act honorably and to cast out those that did not.
Today our government acts dishonorably and those that do act honorably are vilified and cast.out.

Oh, so now Biden might face charges for lying to a federal agent? The same (former) federal agent that wouldn’t bring charges against Joe because a jury would likely find him not guilty because he is a doddering grandpa man with a poor memory?
