Multiple intel sources: Baltimore bridge collapse was an “absolutely brilliant strategic attack” on US critical infrastructure

Multiple intel sources: Baltimore bridge collapse was an “absolutely brilliant strategic attack” on US critical infrastructure - most likely cyber - & our intel agencies know it. In information warfare terms, they just divided the US along the Mason Dixon line exactly like the Civil War.

Second busiest strategic roadway in the nation for hazardous material now down for 4-5 years - which is how long they say it will take to recover. Bridge was built specifically to move hazardous material - fuel, diesel, propane gas, nitrogen, highly flammable materials, chemicals and oversized cargo that cannot fit in the tunnels - that supply chain now crippled.

Nonsense

We’ll hear from those on the ship after our government/the FBI/CIA has advised...I mean...discussed this with them.

She got a lot wrong

She said I-94 for one thing. She probably meant I-95 but the bridge is I-695. It affects one little section of a huge harbor/bay.

It will affect a few ports but others will be able to make up for it. Once the debris is cleared, ships will be able to pass again. Vehicular traffic will be most affected because it will take years to build a new bridge.

How do you get a vessel into port with a pontoon bridge in place?

That is not a solution. The port access is more important than the bridge traffic.

One reason for closing the Naval Base in Charleston was that it was upstream from several bridges

Probably never know but a cyber attack on a ship that took over at an exact moment that guided the ship into a bridge structure that would collapse the bridge... I’m not buying it.

“That’s why I’d like to have the expert harbor pilot who was piloting the ship make a statement or have the authorities who took his statement release it. That would put the people who play expert harbor pilots on FR and X out of the harbor pilot acting business.”

Wishful thinking. The armchair harbor pilots will claim the statement from the actual harbor pilot is a lie and part of a deep state coverup.

“Like it never even happened.”

A small quibble is that the EQ occurred on the 11th, so there were actually 6 days prior to the date on the “before” photo for to access damage and get everything set in place for the repair.

But a trifle, because 6 days or 12... lightning speed regardless.

Some think the ship was hacked.

I do not believe that. I believe inadequate maintenance of the ship power systems is the root cause of this incident.

The ship had a history of power failures while it was docked in the port. The video clearly shows two complete power failures while the ship was heading outbound, plus a restart that was too late to restore steering control before the ship hit the bridge column.

Those ships are massive, and they do not stop quickly once they are moving. The crew dropped a port side anchor which appears to have been ineffective at even slowing the ship.

I will go with incompetence rather than malice on this one.

“Multiple intelligence sources”: that hook has lost its worm. After being assured by multiple intelligence sources, some of whom were even bold enough to publish their names, that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation or that the Russia-gate scandal was real, I automatically assume that whatever follows that phrase is complete garbage.

And how many of those very same intel “sources” proclaimed the hunter laptop to be Russian disinformation and that Trump was in Putin’s pocket.

Sounds like they are trying to give joe an opening for who knows what.

If that bridge was so strategic then why weren’t the pilings surrounded by protective bulkheads?

See Oakland California bridge collapse in 1989. Republicans GHWB and Deukmejian got the ball rolling on the rebuilding project slowed by new safety reinforcement standards. Various bridges and other freeway structures not in the immediate collapse were closed and demolished/rebuilt.
