Do you really think the Russians couldn't take out the entire electric grid in Ukraine?
The Russians will create a buffer zone to protect Russian Federation territory if Ukraine doesn't surrender. Nothing will stop them from doing so. That means everything east of the Dnieper river and, probably, Odessa.

I’ve been hearing this for over two years now. It’s getting old.

For the past two years the Ukrainians have been stopping them from doing so.
And if the Russians were capable of taking Odessa then they would be there by now. But they are not.
Seems they’re a little short of landing ships lately.
