Jamaica is a middle-class neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. It is home to large African American, Caribbean, and Central American populations. Jamaica has a substantial concentration of West Indian immigrants, Indians, Arabs, as well as many long-established African American families. According to the 2010 United States Census, the racial makeup of Jamaica was 55% Black, 16% Asian, 6% Other, 5% Two or more races, and 16% Hispanic.
