2) a shaping operation to set the conditions and prepare the battlefield for a potential future event.

Some pretty legit explanations, at least in general concern if not specific.

It’s just my nature that I think Baltimore was a deliberate attack. Plenty of people will say I’m crazy to think that way.
But it doesn’t really matter. The southern border is open, we know (because they’ve admitted it) that terrorists have entered the country. Maybe they had nothing to do with Baltimore. But surely they would see the result and think that follow-up actions would be especially effective right about now. I expect bad stuff is coming.
The Government tells us they don’t know who blew up the Nordstream Pipeline and immediately after the ship took down the bridge, the government told everyone terrorism was definitely not involved.
You’re right this could all be tin foil hat stuff but anytime the government tells us immediately after an event what happened, I believe the opposite.
The ship made a HARD RIGHT TURN into the pylon.
If it had no steering control, any turns would have been more gradual as dictated by currents.
My own conspiracy theory is that DC is waiting for a spate of deadly terrorists attacks, most of which will be blamed on MAGA DVEs, to declare martial law. Once that happens, God help us all.
I seem to remember this being a plot from one of the first “24” TV series seasons. Is Jack Bauer still active?
I find Lara Logan to be highly worth listening to.
There is a thought out there, voiced by Dave at X22 Report, that the bridge was destroyed to give “Bidan” something to blame for the disastrous economy.

It’s extraterrestrials from the secret underwater base below the Francis Scott Key Bridge. USOs were seen in the area minutes before the bridge collapse. I know this for a fact from a friend of mines, sister’s husband who knew the guy that was using remote viewing from his underground prepper site in an undisclosed location at 16432 High Street in Hartford, Connecticut.
Or initiated by the port side anchor that was dropped at the order of the harbor pilot who was on board.

If the initial change in course was based upon current drift, then why didn’t the current continue to push it further to the right?
Look at the video. The camera is lined up directly on the piling and the ship is on a direct course. Focus on the side of the ship and you see no movement at the bow or the rear. The side stay directly in line with the video angle.
Have you ever operated a watercraft? I'm gonna guess that you haven't.
