Russia said on Tuesday it had important matters to discuss with Afghanistan's Taliban leaders and was working to remove the Taliban from its list of banned terrorist organizations.

"This is a country that is next to us, and one way or another we communicate with them," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"We need to resolve pressing issues, this also requires dialog, so in this regard we communicate with them like practically everyone else - they are the de facto authority in Afghanistan."

Apparently Putin has changed Russia's historic antagonism towards Afghanistan. Back in the ‘80s they tried removing the Taliban from their terrorist list by removing them from the world. Wasn't successful then, probably won't be successful now.

Russian Air Raids Are Disrupting Ukraine’s Energy Grid – Repairs May Take a Year and a Half

The latest round of Russian air raids have brought Ukraine’s energy grid to the brink, with officials admitting, and then denying, the severity of the problem.

The head of DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy firm, said that five of its six plants had been damaged or destroyed.

80% of the company’s generating capacity is lost, and repairs could take up as much as an year and a half!

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia was carrying out ‘vile strikes’ to ‘bleed’ the Ukrainian energy systems.

DTEK supplies about a quarter of the country’s energy, and has seen its thermal power stations and other facilities repeatedly hit by Russian missiles, drones and artillery.
