I was remembering decades ago when at a health food store I bought some Myrrh powder to use for tooth brushing. I could not remember how to spell myrrh, so looked up Frankincense and Myrrh (Google kindly spelled it for me), and discovered a treasure trove of herbal tooth products, including some instructions for making your own. Dozens of articles, tidbits of info, and available products for sale.

RE: I bought some Myrrh powder to use for tooth brushing.

How’s it doing for you? Did you see your dentist after using this? What did he say?

It's Sealed in Glass!

Before that a "miracle tuft" was the last patch of hair on an otherwise bald head.

"Brush Your Teeth Gums"

People don't need to brush their teeth as much they need to "brush" (massage) their gums. A centuries old adage to "brush you teeth" should really be "brush your gums": massage your gums to flush out the gunk between tooth roots and the gum tissue lining them. Otherwise that sliver of space becomes a garbage dump where bacteria will thrive, multiply ... and deposit a foul smelling waste. I think that space is the primary source of halitosis, and more certainly the place where gum disease starts.

If it's true that Beethoven kept immaculate teeth using a napkin, I surmise that he was actually keeping his gums healthy by conscientiously massaging bacteria food out of his gum/tooth space.

Diet plays a major role in teeth care as well.

The sugary SAD (standard American diet) actually promotes tooth decay and if you eat a lot of sugar, all the brushing in the world is not going to stop it. (That goes for sugary soda pop as well).

I went to mostly a Keto/carnivore diet a couple years ago and eat virtually no sweets or processed foods. My dental checkups have gone very smoothly since even though I brush and floss no more frequently than I had been.

I was doing this like 40 years ago, did not continue, but in general was always looking for new ways to help my overall health. I still have all my teeth except to ones pulled for orthodontic work. Some have been capped or crowned and 2 root canals, but all strong and healthy now at age 85. My new partner, after my husband died, started taking me to his very good dentist once or twice a year starting 17 years ago. Repair work was needed then after 10 years of neglect while caring for the dying of my mother and husband, and my father’s complicated estate work when he died. For the past 10 years I have only needed teeth cleaning. My poor partner likes sweets too much and has needed a lot more tooth work all along. I taught my 50 year old sons as children to always rinse their mouths thoroughly with water within 10 minures of eating, especially, eating anything sweet. One son told me recently he had needed his first filling in the back of a back molar. The other son needed work when he cracked a tooth in a parachute jump.
