The "Let the States Decide" position has gone *poof* now that a state has decided.
Hannity is not a conservative. He is just like Graham/Pence/Democrats and wants to keep the abortion issue a federal subject that can be debated and fundraised on for decades to come.
The federal gov’t has ZERO role to play in regulating abortion. It is a states’ rights issue if you truly are a conservative that believes in the US Constitution.
Only RINOs and politicians want to keep abortion as a federal issue so they can fundraise on it while never settling the matter.
A law from the 1860’s is hardly the state deciding. The Arizona abortion ban should be repealed. GOP should do it immediately and call the Dems out for politicizing the issue. Be smart.
How far apart from Donald Trump is Sean Hannity on this issue? If one isn’t a true conservative, how is the other?
“It is a states’ rights issue if you truly are a conservative that believes in the US Constitution.”
OK, then why are conservatives denouncing the Arizona Supreme Court and GOP legislature for not backing down to political expedience?
“A law from the 1860’s is hardly the state deciding....The Arizona abortion ban should be repealed. GOP should do it immediately.”
What difference does the date of the original ban matter? Arizona Republican legislators in the Year of Our Lord 2024 support it.
Hannity will sell out conservatives to save his neck. He did that when he testified that Trump lost, without any evidence of his assertion.
Glenn Beck seems to be the only trustworthy conservative radio host.
:NeverTrumpin':
You can’t be a conservative ideologue and a respecter of the US Constitution. It might suck that some, or all states, will be accommodating on abortion. But if you respect state rights, that’s their right.
What is Hannity selling out? The pro-life plank of the GOP?
President Trump himself says that Arizona has “gone too far” and needs to “fix” the law, whatever that means.
Like it or not, the Arizona law is both bedrock Republican policy AND states rights policy.
Not a federal matter.
States Rights matter.
So, each state will decide; and, Arizona for now, has made a decision.

The problem of millions of women killing their babies . . . is an individual problem for each of the mothers.
Pray that each chooses well, and, that each may be forgiven.
The Biden Administration’s notions of what a “couple” is, and also not knowing that a male is a male, and a female is a female, presents a problem.
That discourages a mother’s surrendering a new baby to the clutches of left-wing “children’s social services.”
A State (Arizona) hasn't "decided".
If the law is not repealed, the State WILL decide in November, with results you are not going to like.
So be it.
He sold us out when he testified that Trump lost the election, when we all know the election was problematic, to say the least.
It’s Arizon’a right to set their abortion law as they see fit. It’s up to the Arizonians to change that if they disagree with it.
Arizona HAS decided. We live in a representative democracy. Can the next legislature change the law? Sure, but people of Arizona selected the men and women who have united to defend the Court’s ruling on the state’s abortion ban.
Another item that dates from that era (1865) - the 13th Amendment - is another human rights issue that Hannity might have issue with.
“It’s up to the Arizonians to change that if they disagree with it.”
I agree. It is unseemly for supposedly conservative commentators or out-of-state political candidates to seek the overturning of Arizona’s ban.
Abortion is all the rats have. Are we going to let them have that by doing dumb stuff? If so it makes it that much harder to win. HOpefullly everyone here does want to win. Between abortion and cheating the rats could get close, why let them have it?
Other than Tucker there is no one who can touch Rush these days.
At present, it seems to me, that the Democrats play a game of many decks of cards scattered far and wide.
They know they are good at the game, and the odds are, for their small, and on up to their middle games . . . that their scattered, many, different methods of vote fraud, can add up and tip the general election toward their favor.
I know Beck is a sentimental squish, who would give way a bit on the Constitution to keep the country together. Other than that, I have never heard him sell out conservatives or do the conservative movement any harm.
He may be a clown, but he’s mostly on our side.
I agree. They’ve got it down to the district level.
