Former NFL running back O.J. Simpson has passed away, according to his family. He was 76.
"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer," they wrote on X.
He died surrounded by his children and grandchildren, they said.

Well, for a time he did have a close relationship with a pigskin.

I still recall my father responding to OJ Simpson’s acquittal in 1995. “It isn’t over yet,” he said.
Over the years this comment came back to me and made me notice OJ in the news. OJ’s career was essentially ended. His reputation was ruined. He was a social pariah. His children wanted nothing to do with him as they got older. He ended up going to prison on other charges. Then he got cancer. Now he died of it.
I know many innocent people get cancer and die earlier than they would’ve otherwise, but I also think OJ would have had a much better life if he had not become a murderer.
Now he must face the judgment we all must face someday.
And I’ll bet he never paid the Goldman’s a dime of what the court levied him.
I don’t speak ill of the dead but OJ was a little bastard that doesn’t deserve any respect.
