In a letter, dated 1/30/2018 just published on Truth Social signed by Stormy Daniels states, in part, the following:

"I am not denying this affair (with Trump) because I was paid hush money. I am denying this affair because it never happened".

And it won’t stop a NYC jury from convicting PDJT.

All NDAs should be considered “hush money” and no one in America should ever sign an NDA.

That's a bit extreme. Companies ask employees to sign NDAs for employment to protect their trade secrets.

People sign NDAs to keep confidential the terms of asset sales like homes.

I’m sure there won’t be a motion to dismiss.

Well, I’m being glib.

But the deal between Trump and Stormy Daniels is not in any way unusual or improper. As you indicate — NDAs are common and essential to many businesses. Trump is in court for having someone voluntarily sign an NDA. That could have very ugly repercussions.

If we had one justice system (spoiler alert: we have two) then the legal trouble Trump is having would also fall upon tech companies and other folks. It’s a dangerous precedent. Unless, of course, this is just selective persecution of one particular guy who broke no laws but who needs to be punished anyway because he loves this country.

It is paid to avoid the publicity. Wealthy or famous people pay NDA(s) for many different reasons. It is not always about sex. In this case, an unscrupulous person or persons capitalized on a chance meeting to make a few grand so Trump could avoid bad publicity. You can fight and win outrageous claims or even legitimate claims of an affair between consenting adults and pay tens of thousands of dollars to lawyers and deal with the yellow journalists or pay less and hush the claim.

The charges, I believe, are that he illegally used campaign funds to pay the hush money and knew it. But the feds investigated and said nothing illegal was done, so why a trial now?

right! what I read makes perfect sense that the 2 of them, daniels and cohen, plotted to shake down TM and DJT and this would make perfect sense. cohen wrote the check out of his own acct, so he says, then went to DJT for reimbursement, if I have that right.

I’m sure there won’t be a motion to dismiss.

I think you misunderstand, the argument is will the "judge" allow it to be entered into evidence? I think he is prepared to not allow this document, nor is he going to allow cohen's perjury conviction to be used by Trump's defense.

She could have alleged the affair and it would have hurt Trump’s chances in the election—she wouldn’t need to produce any proof to cause millions of people to assume it was true. I don’t believe there was an affair. The media would have played it up and it could have cost Trump the election, just like the DUI story (true but 24 years old) almost cost GWB the election in 2000.

It’s too bad the white liberal honkies are using black people to try to lynch Trump. They’ve already all but totally destroyed affirmative action. Affirmative action “shyster lawyers”, braindead judges and weaponized DAs and AGs are all a bunch of low intelligence morons.

Trump isn’t being prosecuted for paying Stormy hush money, regardless of whether or not she provided her services.

Trump is being prosecuted for falsely reporting the payment as a business expense, thereby creating a “false or forged business record.”

Then the hush money was for what exactly?

To make her go away. Happens all the time with nuisance claims.

An affair is NOT the issue...

As if there is a legitimate issue?

That’s what I know about hush money deals.

I don’t run in those circles nor do I even care about it.

At this point in the game, the left has had its daggers out for Trump for so many years that I don’t believe any accusations against him any more.

I think a large part of that is because they have never found anything they could legitimately use against him.

And for all the effort they’ve put into destroying him, there isn’t anything because if there were, they’d have found it and used it by now.

The fact that they haven’t tells me none exists.

The prosecution should hire Billy Bush to interrogate Trump on the stand. He’s good at getting to the truth on these matters.

Doesn’t matter.

Everything from Jack Smith to Fani Willis is one giant election-interference and DNC ad-campaign

It will continue regardless of any facts or revelations of their total hypocrisy.

You are correct.

The comments regarding what the funds were used for are irrelevant and hyperbolic.

It is unmitigated BS, because the same thing has been done by countless democrats who were never charged.
