Let me see if I know how to explain this to you.

Cars have an Electronic Control Module that is controlled by software these days (technically firmware). The software for the last few years includes code to allow the car to be shut down based on certain conditions. One condition can be the GPS location. These conditions can be updated via phone Bluetooth connections, built in carrier data connections etc. when certain government decrees are made. You would be shocked to know what secret code has been put in these cars today.

Yes, I know how it works. And that’s my point. Other stuff uses info from GPS to shut your car down. The GPS doesn’t do it itself.
