Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 450,000 compact SUVs and pickup trucks over loss of drive power because of a battery issue.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall in a notice Wednesday, which affects 2022-2024 model year Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick compact pickup trucks manufactured between 2022-2023.
An undetected low battery charge could lead to some electrical accessories such as hazard lights not functioning properly or cause a loss of drive power in affected vehicles, according to the NHTSA. The issue affects 456,565 vehicles.
Last week, Ford issued another recall for tens of thousands of small SUVs over concerns cracked fuel injectors could leak, increasing the risk of sparking a fire in engines.
A notice posted by the NHTSA said the recall is for certain 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 Escape models with 1.5-liter engines, totaling 42,652 vehicles.

Thought Ford had produced a nice sedan in its earlier versions of the Fusion model. Reproductive consistency of quality is not one of Ford’s less than stellar reputation.

C’mon those are two vastly different things. Screw these rolling computers.
I expect vehicles with a 1.5 L engine to not have power.

I'm a Toyota guy, but have to say, Nissan is right on their heels lately.
Step-Daughter had an approximately 1990 Ford Escort. That thing ran forever and after we took it back and then sold it to a neighbor’s daughter it was still running in 2020. It was bullet proof. I had an original Ford Aerostar minivan that had almost a truck frame. 200K and was still running after my kid had driven it for a couple of years at college in Iowa snows. Some serious recalls but all fixed. I have had better luck for long life with US made cars but I am always getting dealer service is part of the reason.
Systems in cars as so complicated, something is always going to be wrong.
Kinda the primary mission of a vehicle I'd say.

They have Lexus, Toyota, Buick, Chevy, Mini in their top five.
These companies actually poll their readers/subsribers. I used to subscribe to Consumer Reports. Annually, they sent out a several page survey they asked you to fill out.
So, their information was from a pretty large survey. Which is how they come up with their yearly book that shows how well automobiles did over a 5 year+ period.
CR also does not owe anything to advertisers. So, it really is an unbiased report of statistics as reported by their readers.
Quality is Job None.
