Deep down, the smartest Democratic operatives were hoping that the Ukraine funding bill would fail so they could pin the inevitable collapse on Trump. Now Biden will own it completely.

America is collapsing but that was the plan all along.

There's a 620-mile front to defend in Ukraine. The Russians have been mobilizing to fight the war in Ukraine.

It's a war of attrition just like WWI.

Fiscally speaking, what’s $61B anyway?

From day one I’ve said this entire neocon misadventure was a catastrophe waiting to happen. You and I know what we did to those brave Vietnamese who trusted us. It makes my skin crawl to know we are stabbing the honest Uke patriots (not that POS crook Z) in back the exact same way we did the South Vietnamese. The problem this time is, short of deploying NATO troops to the meat grinder, there’s no way to prevent the Uke collapse.

Keep in mind that Ukraine has already borrowed against 20 billion of the aid package for “continuance of government” activities.

If the bill had not passed, the administration would have made sure the collapse occurred before Nov. Blame it on R’s. Old media gleefully goes along.

Now that it has passed, the admin will keep things going until after Jan 20 so they can blame the collapse on the new administration. The only way out for U.S. credibility is a “stay in place” settlement. At least domestically, we can count on the old media to trumpet that as a huge triumph for the Biden administration if it occurs on Biden’s watch. If a new administration reaches the exact same “stay in place” accord, the old media will trumpet it as an enormous loss and capitulation to Putin.

But either Ukraine collapses in the near future, some kind of stay in place settlement is reached, or the French, Brits, and Poles start sending manpower into Ukraine. And then it’s a whole new world.

Any “stay in place” settlement will be hugely unstable because US should probably help Ukraine rebuild and rearm as we have been complicit in destroying their economy and infrastructure (Yes, Russia is the bad guy but we convinced the Ukrainians to stand there and let the Russia beat the crap out of them). Russians would see any such effort as hostile and probably recommence hostilities.

OTOH, if Russia intervenes in what is left of Ukraine to take political control (the reverse of what Obama did in 2014—call it an ‘uncolor’ revolution), Poland, France, Britain and even Germany will be justifiably concerned. Unstable situation all around.

It sucks to be Ukrainian and it could suck to be a European.

The vast majority of Americans wouldn't give a flying crap about any "collapse" of Ukraine.

Anyone who bases their vote on ensuring Ukraine's future should be exiled.

I pray you are wrong. But I don’t think you are.

You’re a funny guy! It appears you spent more time thinking up that witticism than thinking over the last two years about this neocon CF that is now coming home to roost on your neocon doorstep.

Yes, it’s 600 mile front and Biden has sent 31 tanks. While leaving 3600+ in storage. Doesn’t look like much of a mobilization there.

Which is why Vladmir Putin threatened the use of nuclear weapons. It worked.

Why do Conservatives keep falling for this idea that Democrats will ever own their own incompetence or corruption? They have been immeasurably successful on pinning all of their destruction on Republicans. Average Americans that love freedom have to be every bit as zealous in forcing freedom upon Democrat tyrants as they are in imposing their despotism.

One of the funding packages allows for the confiscation of Russian assets in the US. Not freezing, but confiscation.

I hope you are heavily invested in tangibles on Monday. Preferably Sunday night as overnight trading begins at 8PM.

I saw this coming from far and a mile wide.

Biden’s strategy on Ukraine might have worked if China, North Korea, and Iran wasn’t helping Russia get around the sanctions. Since Biden can’t stop China, I’d say Russia will eventually defeat Zelensky and take over Kyiv. Then Biden and the Democrats will get the blame. Unfortunately Ukraine’s defeat will come after November 2024 so Trump must depend on other issues to defeat Biden in the election. History will blame Ukraine’s defeat on Biden and the Democrats.

President Trump will drill baby drill and will, unlike Democrats, put credible sanctions on Russia. That will bankrupt Russia within a year. No Russian economy no Russian genocidal war machine. War over, American energy supplying Europe and Russia back to 1990s. Are we tired of winning yet?

Oh the globohomos again! I was wondering where they were.

Better look under your bed and in all the closets, there might be globohomos hiding there.
