Poland is ready to help Ukraine in getting military-age male citizens to return and help their home country in fighting in the war against Russia, Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian government announced rules on Wednesday under which passports for military-age men can be issued only inside the country instead of foreign diplomatic missions.
As a result, men aged between 18 and 59 living abroad will be unable to renew expiring passports or obtain new ones.
Poland has suggested in the past helping Ukraine so that those who are subject to military service go back to their country to fulfill their civic obligation, Kosiniak-Kamysz told Polsat News television.
"I think many Poles are outraged when they see young Ukrainian men in hotels and cafes, and they hear how much effort we have to make to help Ukraine," he said, without giving any details on how Poland will help.
Some 4.3 million Ukrainians are living in European Union countries as of January, 2024, of whom about 860,000 are adult men, the Eurostat database estimates. Poland has granted temporary protection status to 950,000 Ukrainians, the second-largest number after Germany.
"Any support is possible," Kosiniak-Kamysz said about how Poland would respond if Kyiv asked for help in bringing home those who may lose their right to stay in Poland once their passports expire.

I had forgotten that.
Thanks.
I wonder if the Canadian governments policy of sheltering US draft Dodgers was unpopular with the average Canadian at the time?
Interesting, taken in context of your post 18, incoherent.
How would he know?
The problem with that tale is that we don’t know how few draftees were in his basic, and after basic you only get orders for your MOS school, (the schooling after basic in whatever job you will be doing), no one knows where you will eventually end up, that comes later.
Basic is just the intro to basics that everyone goes to as their first introduction and then they all individually scatter all over the country for their next school or schools.
Are they draft exempt if they left the country before Feb 2022 ?
What bothers me is that the elite and the foreign grad school types have been able to exempt themselves from this, while it is the poor people without money and connections who get sent uselessly to their deaths.
The grad school elites are some of the few that would personally benefit from Ukraine fully joining Globohomo. While the blue-collar types dying in this war will be the economic losers once mass Third World immigration starts.
And here’s the flip side. Hubby enlisted during Vietnam. Army. They were sending every single class there. He requested Vietnam three times. His class was the only one they decided to send to Panama and then Alaska. But I am sure glad he did not go. He would have been a hero and I never would have met him.
“”””Many are technically not draft dodgers.””””
That is true, I used to also distinguish between draft evaders and draft dodgers, and of course some guys just don’t come up for the draft at all, but so few people know anything about the draft so they just call everyone draft dodgers out of ignorance.
Bill Clinton was a true draft dodger while Trump and Biden were draft evaders, and this Ukraine guy on youtube that people call a draft dodger so far I have seen no evidence of that, I haven’t seen any posts about his draft status.

No. The the Canadian elite has organized themselves primarily as being against Red/conservative America since WW2.
Not 100% sure of this, but I think a person in a country not his own whose passport expires becomes a state-less person.
No. Citizenship is not terminated by letting your passport expire, of by having your passport canceled. One continues as a citizen of the country that issued the passport but cannot engage in international travel outside one's home country. Edward Snowden had his United States passport canceled while in transit to South America. He was in the airport in Russia, in no man's land, and his only options were to gain admittance to Russia or return to America. The Russians eventually permitted his entry.
The U.S. State Department definition is, "A stateless person is someone who, under national laws, does not enjoy citizenship – the legal bond between a government and an individual – in any country."
“”””they decided to send to Panama and then Alaska””””
LOL, Jungle School was in Panama back then, I hope the Army didn’t send him to Jungle School and then station him in Alaska.
Don’t laugh, that stuff happens.
Yes he did jungle school and then was stationed on a ship in the canal that was used as a generator for electricity. He already knew how to scuba and was a watercraft operator so he enjoyed many a fishing trip.
I tried to get to Jungle School, that was a great looking patch.
They’re not fighting for freedom. Ukraine isn’t free. it’s a dictatorship. I wouldn’t fight for a dictatorship..
Well, passport expiration plus renouncing citizenship might generate stateless status, and preclude deportation to Ukraine. Note that having a passport expire does not equate to deportation to a war zone. This would go to courts immediately.
“ I don’t blame Poland for wanting to kick out filthy slavs.”

The Poles themselves are Slavs. Just sayin’.
He still has the book.
Survival, evasion and escape 1969. One for sale on eBay right now.

Doesn’t Zelensky have a son in Europe? I think he’s in Italy.

His son is 11.
