She's 82 years old, and her voice isn't what it used to be. It's a little thinner, and the vibrato falters on occasion.
But oh, that voice. Barbra Streisand's voice is recognizable anywhere, whether it's underneath the ocean or on top of the highest mountain. And what she hasn't lost is the sweetness, the achingly beautiful longing in a voice that reaches down and touches the soul.
Whitney Houston had that kind of a voice. The notes would go through the chest and wrap around the heart, squeezing until tears would come to the eyes. But Houston flamed out and died far too soon.
Streisand's voice has haunted our airwaves since 1961, when she made her first appearance on TV. It was the "Jack Paar Show" (later "The Tonight Show"), and after singing a Broadway show tune by Harold Arlen, comedian Phyllis Diller remarked that the 19-year-old Streisand was "one of the great singing talents in the world."
Streisand's autobiography, "My Name is Barbra," a thousand-page self-indulgent but fascinating read, came out last November. It was panned, but most reviewers walked away from reading it astonished at the sheer level of detail. Given the book's subject, it was honest and a story of American culture over the last 50 years.
Streisand's latest project was to sing the end-title song to the new Peacock series “The Tattooist of Auschwitz.” The series is based on the real-life story of a Slovakian Jew deported to Auschwitz, the most infamous Nazi death camp. He was forced to tattoo identification numbers on incoming prisoners’ arms.

When dims like her have cognitive dissonance like this they usually lash out and blame our side but it’s a real stretch in this case. A song saying things are bad is a nice fallback position.

Agreed. She has a beautiful voice, amazing control. Pure talent developed well.
But she’s an idiot.
It is promising that, just perhaps, that she may be realizing how deadly the progressive views are to the Jews.
She probably blames Trump for it.

It is a concern. As I’m sure you will agree, some people deserve that hate. When it comes to entertainers, I’d put Hanoi Jane Fonda and rapist Harvey Weinstein in that category.
But not everyone who disagrees with us is a monster. Most of those folks are some combination of naive, stupid, and brainwashed. They do damage. But they aren’t deliberately evil. And that’s where I’d put Barbra Streisand. I’m not interested in anything she might say politically.
But I don’t hate her. And I will continue to enjoy her music.
She’ll still vote Democrat.
I hope and pray that she is waking up. It would take tremendous courage for her to reverse course now, but if she can see how the democrats can throw Jews under the bus just as quick as they throw fetuses under the bus maybe she will realize that standing for the sanctity of human life at all its stages and in all its races is critical for a truly free people.
I’ll keep her in my prayers specifically.

Same here. There's no excuse for it. In every day life we may blurt out something out of frustration we later realize is hateful, but to type it out and post it takes real pre-meditation.

Understood, but it is important to make note of those that are promoting the hate. Is it old or new users? If new, are they trolls? If much older users, is it because this is what happens when one watches everything that is true and beautiful, despite their best efforts is slowly removed?

She has spent her life castigating those who fight anti-semitism while actively supporting those who promulgate it.
Before I give her a free pass for her past I expect to see some repentance. Some regard for those who have defended Jews for decades and been castigated for it. Singing a song doesn’t cut it with me, Nor does it qualify as some sort of epiphany
