Neither religious conservatives nor liberal feminists are completely satisfied with the status quo in the Jewish state, but the current system allows some 40,000 women to have abortions annually
For Israelis, the affinity of President Donald Trump’s evangelical supporters for the Jewish state has been a bonanza. From the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the Golan Heights as being under Israeli sovereignty and refraining from condemnation of any Israeli military action, the White House has been the gift that keeps on giving. And credit for that is widely acknowledged to be his desire to please his staunchly pro-Israel

My comments were to the author who did write the title.
>> Thank you. I just threw cold water on people &etc
Enjoy the self love. Pat yourself on the back.
Having the Holy Spirit, we laugh off your fantasy (and your “cold water”).
Fedilis told the truth but you can’t handle the truth.
They turned their backs on God. They need Jesus now more than ever and you know this.
You don’t care about the abortions. You only care about beating up on Israel. That is evil, Jew hater.
>> Fedilis told the truth but you can’t handle the truth.
Oh, I can handle the truth. I have never seen you throw America under the bus in a similar way. Why not? America’s abortion sin is a thousand times Israel’s.
You care only to hate the Jews and Israel. I know Scripture as well. Read Romans 11. You do have a Bible... don’t you?
God will not be mocked. Abortion is the big reason why society ages and causes a replacement of an entire people.
What’s with all these stories on Free Republic , about how Gaza restricts abortion , and Israel has liberalized abortion laws?
What exactly are we supposed to do with this information?
Is this information supposed to affect our opinions of the conflict in the Middle East? Are we supposed to support Hamas because they oppose abortion? Are we supposed to oppose Israel in this conflict because of their abortion laws?
Are they Jews?
Then they are the Israel of the Bible.
Ok, so we should not support tax money for abortion either here or in Israel.
So should say any tax dollars go into military defense in Israel? Or even in the US? Should any be spent defending borders? On police?
The Jews are killing their own babies in abortion.
"The Jews" are huh? Could not one say "The Christians" are as well because of all the abortions in the US? Or how about we not paint with that broad a brush?
Didn’t God say be fruitful and multiply? The Arabs are not using abortion as a form of Birth Control and in the end they will win—by out producing the Jews. Israel, that started with such promise in 1948, will end like the Christian Crusader kingdoms after the Crusades, a footnote in history. One state will be the answer, and that one state will be ruled by Turkey or Egypt—or Russia. Jews will live there, as second class subjects only, with Christians and other Islamic sects. Arrogance and hubris was their downfall.
And sadly, you refuse to acknowledge that a Love of the Jewish people, the people God chose for himself, even in their lost state, and a love to God is what is driving the loyalty of Evangelicals to the Jewish people, A.K.A. the Israel of today.
I’m still confident that arabs have been attacking folks long before any abortions were taking place.
You know what? calling the jews plight an act of God absolves the genocidal maniacs.
You are being deceived. The Seed of Abraham referenced by Gen 12:3 is Jesus Christ, as confirmed in Galatians. Israel is the Church. Period. It is not the Tribe of Judah, or descendants of the residents of Judea, or the secular polity calling itself Israel. This notion of “we must bless Israel so God doesn’t curse us” comes from the Scofield Bible heresy, and spread chiefly by people like John Hagee, who are leading Evangelicals into idolatry.
God also said something about bearing false witness.
All of those nations listed are significantly relatively weaker now than in 1948.
the jews are multiplying just not in effort towards global dominance.
I’m not happy that they are murdering babies.
I’m less happy with the insanity of absolving hamas as an act of God.
According to St. Paul, the Church is the Israel of God:
Galatians 6:14-16: "But far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, upon the Israel of God."
The Jewish people of our day, beloved by God though they may still be, are simply Jews. Individuals among them are included in Israel to the extent that they are doing God's will as they know it.
>> Israel is the Church. Period.
Thanks for your strident (but false) “instruction”, Mr. Babtist. Duly noted, and filed where it belongs.
nonsense.
Gentile believers support His elect in Israel situated God’s chosen land because God created in ‘Jacob’ a Jewish theocracy centered in Jerusalem with His stated biblical intention to eventually use that peculiar nation to govern and drive the *completion* of His plan for the salvation of humanity on earth. He will of course be the King of Kings at the head of that nation at that time and over that chosen people, the Jews, standing them up to govern the world in that last age.
it’s really quite simple and has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that Jews are just as much sinners as we Gentiles, and that all of us in Adam were, are, and will be redeemed by our faith in Jesus Christ, and that due to the new covenant in the Blood of the Messiah, Himself.
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed for all men to die once, after this the judgment: So Christ, having been offered once for the sins of many, will come again, apart from sin, for salvation to those who eagerly await Him.
I don’t consider Trump pro-life. I support Israel because that’s God’s land.
‘Many Evangelicals wrongly consider the State of Israel to be a restoration of the biblical kingdom of Israel...’
no. that’s your creation, that’s your straw man.
we evangelicals believe that God’s Word says that a remnant of elect ethnic (genetic) Jews were, are and will be, according to Scripture, reserved by God for his purposes in His chosen land, Israel, and His city, Jerusalem, and that said nation, consisting partly of that Jewish remnant of the 12 tribes, is therefore rightly focused on denying the devil’s desire to occupy, desecrate and destroy God’s land and God’s irrevocably chosen people completely.
we are required by God’s Word, we all believe, to do whatever we can to thwart that plan. that is why we support the secular state of Israel, currently holding that holy place, sacred to God, and which is therefore rightly the focus of believing, Jews and Gentiles based on the Word of God. we have zero illusions that Jews as individuals are any less sinners that any other nation or ethnic group on this earth.
the word says oppose the devil and he will flee. so that is why we evangelicals (i.e., believers in the Bible) support the current state of Israel.
now you can argue that those beliefs based on our interpretation of the Bible are wrong based on Scripture. but please, don’t give us your Potemkin village version of our position and say that’s what we all believe.
