I even saw some cops with riot shields!
Freepers back the blue generally but I'm not sure if beating the students is a good idea...
Kinda depends on what that particular "student" is doing to incite the response.

Let the marxist university admin work it out with their red guard spawn by themselves.
Once this episode is over, they’ll all go back to hating cops, hating conservatives, hating white people, etc. etc.
The only thing I have a problem with are tasers, they can cause cardiac and other problems and should be banned. At the very least, the public should be able to access them as long as cops can, can’t have a one-way street here.

I heard the billy club identifies as a twizzler when out clubbing these days, so..
A billy club can be used three different ways.
It can be used as a striking device, much like swinging a baseball bat. Except in extreme circumstances, I am against such use. It can do more damage than intended. And it’s bad optics for the camera. No need to make a martyr out of a violent protestor.
It can also be used as a prod, to push someone along. Yep. That’s a good use.
The third use is as a lever, to bring a combative person to the ground. That takes a bit of skill. But there’s nothing wrong with such use.
Several of the ‘protestors’ have attacked Jews with pepper spray and tasers. I believe the proper, proportional response should be pepper spray, tasers, and the occasional Billy Club for those who ‘deserve’ it.
I prefer a PERMANENT criminal record for all of those breaking the law. Brand them as unemployable troublemakers. That will hurt far longer than a beating.
Play stupid games. Won stupid prizes.

They were being used in 1971 in DC, as someone was hit they would move to the interior of the group, since the cops weren’t getting resistance they would back off for a while and try it again and then when there was still no resistance they just started politely arresting everyone.
What would work better than a Billy club would be a painful switch type stick, sturdy, flexible and thick enough to deliver a blow if used on the head and thin enough to use against the legs, arms and bare skin for pain.

If the protesters start getting violent, especially with the police, I think the police are justified in returning the sentiment.
As a retired correctional officer, I would prefer a riot baton which can be used for defense as well as offense.
Let’s not be 18th century. Use cattle prods to sensitive areas instead.
They do have a long history don’t they!
Also they were used to break illegal strikes (going back further now)
