Had to research what “CCM” meant. It would help to explain acronyms.

“Had to research what “CCM” meant. It would help to explain acronyms.”

You aren’t supposed to use them until after you define them.
So, what does “CCM” stand for?

Hallelujah! Contemporary “Christian” Music is DYING! Insipid. Cheap. Inane. Vacuous. It lived too long.

Classic Country Music?
Contemporary Christian Music?
If the first, it’s a shame. The latter, good riddance! It’s all these “artists” that are spouting off this deconstruction garbage; along with endorsing homosexuality. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

I feel for the AM station. While I enjoy the programming, their commercial load is anemic. Meaning there’s not a lot of commercial support for the programming.

Put it on an HD sub-channel. Radio needs all the listeners it can get. Far more analog FM listeners. Wasting analog FM spectrum in larger markets on small audiences is wasting $$$.

That’s such a shallow criticism. In every genre of music, there is what you described.

There is also some very deep, biblically sound, excellent musically and vocally music in Contemporary Christian. Music.

As a musician, and a Believer, I’m very picky about both lyrics and music. You also have sub genres, Christian rap (yes, and I’m not talking about the ones who have run of the milk generic lyrics), Christian country, and Christian bluegrass.

Was totally and utterly blessed by a concert of worship filled with the gospel message at a recent concert.

Inside Radio is a publication for radio broadcast professionals. For those of us in broadcasting, having to define CCM is like having to “TV” as “television to most folks.

Writing a paragraph where “An AC stunts to CCM at the PD’s request because it cumes high in the money demo over a class A with 6:00 TSL” makes 100% sense to a radio broadcaster, means nothing to those who aren’t in the biz.

Each to his own. Satan has his ways of compromising with the the world. Glad you’re OK with that. Free will. It’s not a matter of taste, i.e., Beatles vs Stones. It’s the world vs the Christian life.

(My major in college/seminary was in Church Music.)

Kind of of hilarious seeing “deep” in the same sentence with “Contemporary Christian Music”.

Then you would know there are quite a few hymns and church music with poor lyrics and worse theology.

I will trust my background in instrumentation, voice instruction, performance, choir, worship teams, and music writing.

I will also trust the Holy Spirit’s guidance on such matters.

Hallelujah! Contemporary “Christian” Music is DYING!

The frequencies are still CCM stations and are very much still on the air. More like local radio is dying of any genre for product piped in from national networks.

Insipid. Cheap. Inane. Vacuous.

Like many things...some of it is and some of it isn't.

CCM is very much alive where I live. Some of it is as you say, but there is a lot of good stuff also. My church uses mostly CCM in worship, and it can be very powerful.
