‘Blue Bloods’ Future Is Sealed: The Long-Running Series Will Wrap For Good In December

Tom Selleck may have warned CBS earlier this year that there are an “awful lot of people” who aren’t ready to say goodbye to Blue Bloods, but there are no plans to extend the police procedural beyond its 14th and final season.

During a press conference Thursday to discuss the fall schedule, Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach conceded that while they will miss the series at CBS, the drama will still wrap after the second half airs this fall.

The first half of Blue Bloods‘ 14th season kicked off February 16. The second half of the season will return in October.

When the show’s final season was announced, star Selleck released this statement to fans. “For the past 13 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family,” he wrote.

I did like the show...I watched it whenever possible...

I did notice that the daughter of Assistant DA Erin Reagan stopped showing up for family dinners...Maybe I missed some important episode...

I can’t believe it has been around for 14 years and I haven’t watched it once.

Not having a t.v. helps.

I caught it off and on and it was OK.

I am surprised, however, that the show lasted as long as it has given Tom’s NRA ties. Seems to me that Hollywood would have given him the Rosanne treatment by now.

Hell, I didn’t know it was still on.

I loved the show. Best part of every single episode is the entire family getting together for Sunday dinner after church. Strong family program and very pro cop as well.

It had gone really woke.

Right...not only Sunday dinner...but they always say the blessing before eating.

Many good, solid, “old time” American values are reflected in this series.

It got pretty woke, and anti-religious.

Like it a lot.

I suspect they can’t keep up with the anti-cop, crime ridden, current news emphasis.

I used to watch the show faithfully for many years, then I got turned off, because each week’s episode became something taken right out of the weekly news occurrences.

I even have a TV and have never seen the show. Hopefully I’ll be OK.

I watched it for the first three or four years but got bored with it after that.

Series should not last forever (I am looking at you, NCIS).

They start off good, then the original writers leave and eventually they just grind out the same story over and over.

I can't believe it's been around that long either. I thought it had been around for a couple seasons.

Regardless, I haven't watched a single episode of it either. Far too many cop shows on TV, and gave up on them decades ago. And I have 4 TVs at home.

The only time I see Tom Selleck, is when his commercials are on TV.

All seasons are on Paramount streaming. I watched them all. And Erin only misses a few family dinners.

I’ve seen bits and pieces of the show and thought it looked a little corny. Granted, I’m not a big Tom Selleck fan; he’s a terrible actor in my opinion. Very one dimensional.

She moved to San Francisco.

OK...I got the impression that Assistant DA Erin Reagan's daughter had a negative attitude towards cops...

IMHO Tom Selleck's role in the show is to go as long as he can without saying anything...making the silence loud as everyone wonders what the boss will eventually say. LOL
