WASHINGTON — It has become the topic of the season at Washington dinner parties and receptions. Where would you go if it really happens?
Portugal, says a former member of Congress. Australia, says a former agency director. Canada, says a Biden administration official. France, says a liberal columnist. Poland, says a former investigator.
They’re joking. Sort of. At least in most cases. It’s a gallows humor with a dark edge. Much of official Washington is bracing for the possibility that former President Donald Trump really could return — this time with “retribution” as his avowed mission, the discussion is where people might go into a sort of self-imposed exile.

Said it before and I'll say it again: if the trajectory continues, the US could well see a dictatorship of the type that the Left fearmongers, but that dictator's last name won't be Trump.
They should avoid the rush & leave today!
<< this time with “retribution” as [Trump’s] avowed mission >>
We can only hope.
In 2016, Trump was a moderate Republican, with widely-held moderate Republican views standard in the second half of the 20th century - low taxes, controlled immigration, less abortion, more state freedoms, smaller Fed.gov.
Yet Obama marked the take-over of DC by the Marxist cabal and their corrupt money cronies.
So even a moderate Republican, if not controlled by them, was a grave threat to them.
What comes after Trump is going to be FAR worse for them.
If you look at the list of countries that don’t have extradition treaties with the US, the places they say they want to flee to aren’t on that list.
All named nations have extradition treaties with the USA…
While I agree with liberals it is mostly talk, I would like to see many of them sweat and worry. They need to sweat and worry. What Trump might do is tap on the shoulder to what might happen to them if they continue to trash this country and cause things to fall apart. Justice might be swift and final in that type of atmosphere. Not advocating, just stating an opinion.
If they’re looking for a warm place, I suggest that hell might be appropriate!
I hope , if he wins a big if, he does get some revenge.
I don’t think we are to the guillotine stage yet.
However someone with better legal knowledge—is there any reason , if he has control of the house, why he can’t have a bloodless coup?
Just have a MASS firing in the government, as in 10s of thousands of unelected RINOs/dems in all branches? Every single woke, every single DEI hire, every single leftist from post offices to dept of state. Call it a lay off whatever. Every single official who has backed BLMTIFA, spoke of supporting Russia Gate etc etc
And could it include private organizations which are not really private? Say Universities which receive government funds, social media, Mass Media. Get rid of all the Zuckerbergs.
It would be grand!
PS
why not elected RINOs while we are at it?If they have proven to be democrats in everything by name only. Can they be fired? Perhaps on charges of treason with, say the border? Keeping within confines of the law.
>> I hope , if he wins a big if, he does get some revenge.
I just hope President Trump restores the concept of “doing justice”.
If he does that, to the deepstate and their support networks, it’ll hurt like revenge. I will enjoy their cries of rage and pain.
I like to imagine justified no-knock swat raids and frog-marches of some individuals that justly deserve it, for a change!
Wouldn’t it be great, though.
If only they would and thin out the ranks of the deep state. It would make reform that much easier.
Jesse Kelly’s line is that “Franco is coming”...because of how nuts the Left has become. There was a time when I would have thought that too extreme.
I no longer think so.
They should GTFO.
Go for what reason? Not a damn thing will happen to them.
I no longer think so, either, as a Franco or Pinochet requires the backing of the military; our effete, feminized military would not likely enter the fray.
I no longer think it too extreme.
I am reminded of a supposed quote from Adm. Yamamoto after Pearl Harbor …” we have awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with terrible resolve.”
