Trump is not talking about getting out from under the Refugee Convention.

As a result we are getting people not wanted in their homelands and unable to get along with people highly similar to themselves. These people instantly must be given full welfare benefits under the Convention.

People are so ignorant they think the GOP is the evil party, and libertarian is what they really want.. but they fail to realize that libertarian has more in common with the conservatives than not.

I know one girl who hates the GOP and ‘took a test’ and said it showed she is more libertarian in her beliefs than anything else. So I asked her why on earth she would support democrats?!?!?!? They are the OPPOSITE of libertarians.

Pointing out inconvenient facts about Trump is a no-no around here. You should know that by now.

I have called for income and property tax caps in our federal and state constitutions.

Has Trump?

I’m thinking of a Star Trek episode where people live their lives to feed Vaal.

“libertarian”

That type often put the cart in front of the horse.

Some would allow unfettered immigration without restraining the welfare state and taxation first.

“climate control”

I’m in New England.

On a cloudy day the temperature stays low. On sunny days it rises quite a bit.

Cloud cover impacts surface temperatures.

the worst and nastiest sludge and sediments in a swamp stay close to the bottom if left alone and makes it difficult to see the bottom or judge what is really there. President Donald J Trump pushed a stick blender all the way to the bottom of our beloved d.c. swamp and now the entire world has gotten a glimpse of just how nasty, filthy and toxic it really is. you can bet your life the swamp wants to go back into peaceful hiding but now that we have seen it...HOW in good conscience can we as a society and nation allow it to exist at all?

The Contract with America was a legislative agenda advocated by the Republican Party during the 1994 congressional election campaign. Written by Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, and in part using text from former President Ronald Reagan’s 1985 State of the Union Address, the Contract detailed the actions the Republicans promised to take if they became the majority party in the United States House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. Many of the Contract’s policy ideas originated at The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

The Contract with America was introduced six weeks before the 1994 Congressional election, the first midterm election of President Bill Clinton’s administration, and was signed by all but two of the Republican members of the House and all of the Party’s non-incumbent Republican congressional candidates.

The contract described the plan of the Congressional Representatives, seeking to nationalize the Congressional election. Its provisions represented the view of many conservative Republicans on the issues of reducing the size of government, cutting taxes, and both tort reform as well as welfare reform.

The 1994 elections resulted in Republicans gaining 54 House and 8 U.S. Senate seats, flipping both chambers. The Contract was seen as a triumph by party leaders such as Minority Whip Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, and the American conservative movement in general.

I tend to think most federal programs should be replaced by block grants to the states based half on their individual federal income tax paid by residents (to cope with higher costs in higher income states) and half on population (to cope with lower revenue in poorer states like West Virginia).

The federal government would continue to run Social Security[old folks often move to lower cost states] and Medicaid & Medicare drug coverage[federal patents permit for high drug costs].

Trump never stopped being President of our nation. This “Biden” character is only president of the corporation, but Trump bankrupted the corporation and its power is quickly evaporating. I wonder why Stossel doesn’t know about the Act of 1871.

Exactly, thank you!

Although, I'd tweak a bit to say Trump did stop being 'President' (US Inc bankrupted), however continues now as CIC, with COG Continuity of Government, laws/orders and EO's/PEADs.

The years 2017-2021 were the setup years. He constantly referred to 'Draining of the Swamp', not actually doing it, but setting it up - bringing in to his admin seemingly deep staters, or initially conservatives that outed themselves as deep staters. Essentially, the Uni-party. The oft repeated MO was to take aspects of and persons of the Deep State, and put them front and center to let them out themselves, DECLAS-style.

Trump has referred to "kinda" his second term, as '46', wearing a cap that reads "45-47", where much of the draining is now occurring. As 47, or in another way, '19' (Grant was last POTUS of the republic), the recovery term.

For evidence of the current draining, see this United States Treasury page:

Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List

And, additionally, check out this sealed and unsealed indictments page:

To really drain the swamp, Trump will need support from the courts and Congress. The swamp consists of unelected bureaucrats protected by federal workers unions, reams of Executive Branch red tape and regulations, and a cowardly Congress which refuses to exercise its Constitutional role and delegates more and more power to the Executive.

He didn’t fail, but he didn’t drain it, yet. He exposed it for all to see. Never has it been so obvious what they are.

Exactly! Step 1 is admitting there's a problem. Now most former skeptics believe there's a deep state. At the very last, Trump has succeeded in that.

And if they weren't afraid of Trump they wouldn't have been so relentless with vote fraud and lawfare against him LIKE WE'VE NEVER SEEN THEM DO TO ANYBODY ELSE. Rush often said that the left always show you whom they fear most. Evidently it's Trump.

Yes, I think he’ll clean house.

~~~
Yes, he will have to, just to try to be effective.
But this is how the deep state and the swamp works.
They are made up of human beings and act out of self preservation and self interest just like all other humans and organizations run by humans, even if they are doing so irrational to their intended funtions
They will use the media to pre-load the narrative against Trump.
So even if he is acting with the purest of intentions to rid himself of the obstructionists, they will already have it framed as “Night of the Long Knives 2.0” and crap like “democracy” being destroyed, even though Trump is elected and they are the administrative state!
