BTW, This morning Jay Wolfe spoke to the state convention of the Fraternal Order of Police. Then, we toured a couple of sporting goods stores and placed pro-2A pledge/"I will vote for Wolfe" cards on the counters. And, he bought tickets to the Friends of NRA banquet next month. We're on a roll! I showed him your ideas about get-out-the-vote phone calls from gun club lists and he liked and will explore further. Thanks!!

Come on Dan! You've gotta admit that your Wings got damn lucky with that last minute stick deflected junk shot "goal" in game three. And then, the 16th seeded 'Canes held off your "1st" rated squid molestors for almost a whole 'nother game! Face it, the Wings are just a bunch of lucky old farts. Colorado would have taken them if Roy hadn't had a nerveous breakdown.

Tonight is game 4 in North Carolina. Wings are up 2-1 in the series. 4 out of 7 wins. Last Saturday's game went into 3 overtimes and was 1 minute short of the longest NHL playoff game in history. The winning goal was made by Igor Larionov, the oldest player in the league.

Some day, after you've watched hockey for awhile, you'll realize that deflections like that by 600 career goal scorers ain't luck. Looks to me like the "Breeze" could use a few of those "lucky" type players. Some day if you get the chance, go to a NHL practice and watch some of the guys practice deflections. It is truly an art form.

Dino Cicarelli was the best at deflecting pucks in front of the net that I've seen. Holmstrom still doesn't have that knack. He'd have a ton of goals if he did. Well, back to the TeeVee.

They dont call Igor "The Professor" for nothing. Skill? After 5 and a half periods Saturday night with most of the Shots on Goal in periods 3, 4 and 5 by the Red Wings, I would say the Skill belongs to the Wings. Age goes to the Canes but the rest goes to the wings.....
