It was a forum on illegal immigration called by State Senator Morrow, Oceanside. With Tancredo, Gilchrist, and several other speakers and Rodger Hedgcock, talk show host from San Diego was the moderator.

The rally outside was between the pro immigration scum and a few hundred people out of the thousands that showed up for the forum that couldn't get in that stayed around to harrass the scumbags

Why is it always racists to simply want the borders controlled?? Nobody is against LEGAL immigration. Geez. The race card, the last resort for those losing an argument.

I believe the forum was originated by the Superintendent of Carlsbad Schools. Then, he cancelled it when it became apparent that there would be lots of protestors on all sides. Then, after that, Bill Morrow sued the Carlsbad School District (just last week, I believe), on the grounds that it is illegal for a public school district to cancel any controversial presentation solely on the grounds that there may be protestors in attendance. To do so violates free speech.

I think this is the gist of what happened ... why there was so much press coverage beforehand. There was a link on FR last week, but I couldn't find it.
