Marijuana only, and only with strict regulation.

You want to post a vanity, in News, and you want to be a moderator to keep the discussion "in-topic"?

Drugs are illegal. You want them legal, fight to have the laws changed, but in the meantime don't do drugs.

You're almost a one issue poster, save for your complimentary comments on the koran.

Will it really matter, however you decide?

I don't like weed myself. I guess it's my biochemistry.
However, has anyone ever died from a marijuana OD? NO!
Has anyone every died from an alcohol OD? YES!
Case closed.

welcome to FR

decriminalize them all, regulate them heavily, penalize intoxicated criminality three times as roughly as sober criminality, and free all insurance companies and medical caregivers from responsibility to treat and support druggies.

prohibit/penalize criminal behavior, not material possession.

let the junkies die off - don't help them at all.
give it five years, and compare results with those of the current material prohibition paradigm.

onyx,
"complimentary" about the Koran?

Most drugs are already legal with a prescription.

Shortly, you will be supplied with "scientific studies" done by aging hippies. You will get the "weed is better than booze" argument. It's the same every week. It's just that some forget it quickly so it has to be rehashed every week.

I don't smoke or drink anymore either. We're just never going to erradicate marijuana or alcohol in the USA because they're both too easy to produce right here.

It's a mulifaceted issue. If we legalize and tax marijuana like we do alcohol we can use that revenue to treat meth addicts and imprison meth producers. I'm wildly oversimplifying the issue but that's my basic feeling.

Singapore has earned a reputation as an authoritarian society, and its drug laws certainly bolster that notion. Anyone holding more than half an ounce of heroin or little more than a pound of marijuana is presumed to be trafficking. The only sentence available for that offense: Death by hanging.

Want to control drugs?

Try the Singapore method. If the profit is not taken out you don't have chance to control drugs. You can't control prostitution, you could not control alcohol, you will not be able to control guns, you cant prohibit anything that is available to make money.
