Following the controversy created by her new book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," Ann Coulter has stirred up new outrage with a comment about outspoken anti-Iraq war Congressman John Murtha.
In an e-mail interview with John Hawkins at the Right Wing News Web site, Coulter was asked for comments on several prominent individuals. When the name of Pennsylvania Democrat and ex-Marine Murtha came up, Coulter remarked: "The reason soldiers invented fragging.

Once again, there's only controversy because Ann's saying what three-quarters of Americans would like to say.
Advocating killing a political opponent is over the line.
She sure does draw a lot of return fire. We need someone like her to twit the PC nancy boys on occasion, just to remind them that they are supposedly men...
The "dish it out but can't take it" crowd is whining again.
Agreed.
That comment is down to the Air America level. Just because they do it does not make it right.
Ann is the personification of "Free speech in your face." Its great that we have at least one fearless conservative on our side not afraid to exercise Free Speech rights.
No wonder 40+% of Americans don't know anything about what's going on in their government etc. They tune out.
Exactly. We like Coulter because she can go forth and say the things we all wished we could say, but our innate politeness doesn't permit us to.
True, but she didn't do that.
Coulter's really gotten under the skin of some of these whack jobs. There was a slight moment in time when I thought a couple of Ann's comments were not helpful to the conservative cause but the more I hear these people scream, the more I say:
'Go, Ann, Go!'
Gotta go buy here new book.
You are correct. Let's be careful to hold the Dems to this standard whenever they say "Ann Coulter should just shoot herself"
There was no advocacy of killing in what Ann said. It's hyperbole at its verrrrry finest.
Fragging is not advocating killing. Any killings that result from fragging are totally denounced, investigated and usually prosecuted to the enth degree.
So, where's the controversy?
There's an excellent book, "That Kind of War," about the Korean war. A good friend of mine fought in that war as an artillery observer.
Fragging was invented because the war was being lost by stupid, incompetent officers who didn't know their *ss from a hole in the ground. Soldiers were dying, the war was being thrown away, because a bunch of incompetents had been promoted in peacetime, and there was only one way to remove them from the commands they were incapable of holding.
It's not the kind of thing anyone would or should want to do. But when your buddies are being killed uselessly and the war is being lost, what else can you do?

Coulter's Murtha 'Fragging' Comment Draws Fire
Following the controversy created by her new book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," Ann Coulter has stirred up new outrage with a comment about outspoken anti-Iraq war Congressman John Murtha.
In an e-mail interview with John Hawkins at the Right Wing News Web site, Coulter was asked for comments on several prominent individuals. When the name of Pennsylvania Democrat and ex-Marine Murtha came up, Coulter remarked: "The reason soldiers invented fragging.
"Fragging became a familiar term during the Vietnam War and refers to soldiers trying to kill their own officers.
The comment drew a sharp rebuke from conservative Mike Krempasky, who called it "disgusting, according to Editor & Publisher.
He declared on the Web site RedState.org: "Theres no excuse none for the allusion to soldiers who kill other soldiers. Its despicable and frankly, so is Coulter.
Coulter was already under fire from some including Hillary Clinton for attacking the four New Jersey widows who pushed for an independent commission to investigate the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks that killed their husbands. In her book, Coulter accused the women of "reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis.
In "Godless, Coulter maintains that liberalism contains all the attributes of what is generally known as "religion.
What is wrong with folks? Yeah, right, as if this is going to lead to violence.
Coulter's remark is FUNNY!
I disagree.
There actually is a term called 'fragging' and it has been used in the past- right or wrong- to remove a member of a military unit who was dangerous to his own men and mission.
She merely said that Murtha was an example of why such a thing was invented, she never asked for him to be killed. And a pretty dam funny and witty analogy, if you ask me.
I don't think I am splitting hairs on this one...
