National Geographic Warns Global Warming Leads to Increased Violence... Possibly Even 'Genocide'
Newsbusters ^ | 03/26/10 | Anthony Kang

On March 24, Ker Than argued in National Geographic that "Global warming could make the world a more violent place, because higher temperatures increase human aggression and create volatile situations."

Reporting on the findings of a new study released last week, Than repeated the study authors' estimate of increase in violence as temperatures climb: "[I]f the average temperature in the U.S. increases by 8 degrees Fahrenheit, the country's murder and assault rate will jump by about a hundred thousand cases a year."

Than also used temperature projections from the UN's IPCC, which has recently been forced to admit "flaws" in its reports since the ClimateGate scandal broke in November 2009.

"A 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change projected that global surface temperatures could rise by 2 to 11.5 degrees Fahrenheit" by 2100, he wrote without mentioning any of the criticisms of the IPCC or their own admission of problematic data.

And global warming is causing flabiness in my arms and thighs and my hair to get dry and brittle. Geez!

***Global warming could make the world a more violent place***

Beg to differ: Fears of Global Warming, fueled by fools and charlatans will make the people of the world more alert and skeptical - which is a good thing.

He obviously never spent 7 months in Michigan where the clouds, rain, snow and cold REALLY bring out the aggression.........

You can play golf or softball regardless of how hot it is but you can't in the snow.........

It’s true. Look what happened during the Medieval Warm Period.

Those quiet, pacifistic Scandinavians went beserker. Put funny hats on their heads, grabbed clubs and swords and pillaged all the way to Greenland.

They got Bofors 57 mm guns, fighter jets and who knows what else now. Can we risk them losing it again?

National Geographic makes me sad.

When I was growing up, I remember it as an interesting magazine that was always on the coffee table and which was great to pick up and look at when otherwise unoccupied. It had lots of great photos and the articles (when I bothered to read them) were interesting accounts of experiences in different cultures of some factual account of the natural world.

Somewhere along the line, though, National Geographic turned a corner from what it was. It turned into an instrument of activisim and advocacy. When they turned that corner, I refused to endorse their platform with my subscription (membership) dollars and they lost me

It is sad, though, that my kids have not grown up like I did with National Geographic on the coffee table.

Yet another once great periodical that has been destroyed due to its insistence on parroting propaganda from the anti-American Left.

This is Living Proof that once you lose your moral compass by deliberately lying, you can end up saying very, very stupid and evil things. It is pure evil to suggest that humans are such an unbalanced and marginal organism, that they will resort to murder if the environmental temperature changes by 8 degrees.

"Global warming could make the world a more violent place, because higher temperatures increase human aggression and create volatile situations."

If this were true wouldn't every large city in the south have a higher per capita violent crime rate than the northern cities? Another load of warmist BS.

Ker whatever his name is doesn’t understand the significance of America’s recent purchasing patterns.

America recently bought 800,000,000 rounds of ammo. In the same time frame, the US military only bought 1,000,000,000. That Americans bought for themselves 80% of the ammo purchases of the American military should have been an indicator. But, Ker IS a “science writer”.

An armed society IS a peaceful society.

If the rest of the world were to abandon their Second, Third, and Turd World cultural patterns and adopt our Founding Documents, arm themselves, and go to work, then they need not fear Anthropogenic Global Warming or their neighbor with a Koran and a machette.

higher temperatures increase human aggression

Well of course, a war between two cold, far-northern countries would be a near-impossibility ....

... like say, between Russia and Finland ....
