I am not a Palin supporter and rather have DeMint, Hunter, or Thompson as our candidate in 2012. With that, I still think we should give her a pass on the comment. What good does it publically slamming him at this point? Personally, I think Steele will be removed behind the scenes, without a messy PR event.

Agree, he should go, quietly. Thompson is way too old and lacking energy; Hunter, for all his ideological creds, just has not caught on and is too unknown.
DeMint in terms of positions seems possible. I don't know about his personal appeal, and probably can't even place his face. So he'd have a ways to go, but it's do-able.
