Why do people make such asinine statements? Getting history correct and understanding how it affects what we do today has nothing to do with the arguing whether the Confederacy is dead or alive. It would be the same as trying to make a point about the U.S. Constitution based on the writings of those who formed our Republic and you say, “The Founding Fathers are dead. Move on.”
And why is it that people come to these threads and say “move on”? Coming here just to say that means YOU are the one not moving on. Duh!
