I have a question. Has it happened that homeschoolers pool their resources and create schools with students of their choosing, using that group of parents to each contribute a specialty? It would seem to be a nice way around all of the restrictions and government interference of setting up a private school.
I think it’s better to just homeschool. Starting a private school costs a lot of money and then u usually have to turn to the gov. to get grants.
There are homeschooling groups who share teaching skills, like science, math, English and history.
Sooo, Okay, if PUBLIC schools meet national standardized testing standards, fine, they can continue, if not, PUBLIC schools should be prohibited????

Raising children, to include shooling at primary levels, is a parents right and responsibility, morally, regardless of what the “state” says.

It does happen some, but not that often. We have a co-op in our area that meets every other week for unit studies, but I have heard of full co-op schools (including sports).
One of the big advantages of homeschooling is not being tied to the public school schedule, but the full co-op school would just lock us into their schedule.
When EVERY public school student passes standardized test then we can MAYBE discuss the government testing my children for proficiency.
Actually I jest. If I want to keep my kids home and let them take apart and put back together old TVs that is no one’s business but my own. The government is not responsible for the education of my children and should have absolutely NO say in it.

Given your reasoning, then the government schooled kids who fail their standardized tests should **not** be allowed to continue government schooling. They should be forced to homeschool! :-)
Then obviously you should be having a BIG problem with government schooling because millions upon millions of government schooled kids are failing these standardized testing.

The government can't adequately educate the inmates in the public school system. Why on earth should homeschoolers be required to answer to an inefficient, institutionalized bureaucracy?
Why are you in favor of governmental control of the lives of private citizens?

And just who do the public schools answer to when THEY fail in educating the children institutionalized in them? Where do they send them? To homescoolers?
You are all about government control, hardly a conservative position.

Society of Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, 268 U.S. 510 (1925) and understand what the unanimous decision means. My kids are my responsibility, not yours, not the governments. Butt out.
And what debate would that be? Homeschoolers kick ASS in test after test after test, which is a big reason why public schools and unions would love to shut us down. The statists will not be satisfied until they control the minds of EVERY child. That’s why we fight. I’m shocked that you are on the side of the statists.
I hope you don’t teach you children with that filthy attitude. Good luck....I would love to know what your kids are going to end up doing.....GED in hand.
