Democratic leaders are right to caution their members and candidates against talking up impeachment. There is the obvious political consideration that impeachment is disfavored, at least now, by many voters, especially those in red states where Democrats need to hang on to precious Senate seats. But there is something more important, both for the party fighting against the erosion of democratic norms and for the country: We cannot normalize impeachment.
Rep. Adam Schiff of California, ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, writes that it is clear that if President (Donald) Trump participated in a conspiracy to defraud the United States during the campaign by colluding with the Russians, there is a historical basis for the Senate to remove him from office. It is even more clear that if he committed the offense of obstruction of justice while in office, that would provide a legal basis for removal. Saying there is a basis for impeachment does not, however, mean it is the wise course of action....

Shiff for brains forgets that even though Clinton perjured himself on national TV the Senate couldn’t find it in their heats to impeach him.
One point among many that Rebin makes that I really disagree with is that impeachment should be the equivalent of a last resort. Instead I think being fired should be fairly easily possible. Sometimes the only thing that will send a message is heads rolling at least figuratively. The fact that we never have actually used impeachment and removal makes the Constitutional provision a dead letter. I’m not saying that Trump should be impeached I’m saying that the impeachment of a president happening would be a good thing institutionally at some point.
When the impeachment of Clinton failed to result in removal, it amounted to an expansion of presidential powers. Perjury before a court and the sexual use of minor subordinates became perks of the job if you are politically popular enough.
Aye, aye to that! I find myself continually trying to calm down....
I'm the only male in my family that hasn't had or doesn't have a cardiologist and I'd like to keep it that way for a few more years at least.

At this point the only way to get the final amnesty that will cement in place the Bush Plan for North Mexico is to impeach President Trump.
They thought they had US in a box and we could not elect a President who would enforce the laws and borders because Bush League Republicans controlled the GOP.
Thank God for Donald Trump!
Jebbifer only cares about one thing.
The same as every other Bush League Republican.
Finalizing the theft of the country from the citizens with one last amnesty.
