As a black man, may I speak freely about this?
(hold my coffee)

The only thing that troubles me more than the scribbling of this arrogant racist is the number of non-black folks on this forum who think all black folks really think like this.

First, let’s destroy the premise of his whole argument: The American economy was NOT built on the backs of slaves (as if no white man ever lifted a finger to do anything). Between the war of the mid 19th century and over 50 years of set-aside government policies that UNFAIRLY put black Americans first, I’d say let’s call it even.

[SIDE NOTE: if you still think you’re really entitled to something, then Natives will have dibs before you, and there won’t be much left when they get their ‘fair share’, but I digress....]

So as not to portray all black Americans in the same light, allow me to address those few who may agree with any premise of this article. You want more reparations? You have a problem with what white people may have done in the past? You want your communities fixed? Well, before I give you ideas on how to do that, let me ask my “brothers and sisters” this question:

Why do you want the people you think caused the problems to help you fix them?

Problems in the black community? Sure there are; to the point where there isn’t much a community left in some places. But here are a few of my ideas that may help get ‘our people’ on a better footing:

1. Stop calling yourselves “African-American” unless your were born there. Frankly, I don’t even know who came up with that term. Besides, it’s an insult to the native Africans who come here and on average do better than the black folks born here. (That alone should tell you that it’s not about skin color). Putting a prefix in front of your true nationality makes it sound and feel like you are an American second (a.k.a 2nd class citizen). You’re Americans first, dammit!

2. Stop being racists. I assume you were taught that making a pre-judgement against a person or group based on skin color is in fact, racist. Yet, whenever I hear an American get bless with an oracle to run their mouth about race, that’s all I hear (notice I didn’t say black). This includes you black so-called pastors that have been preaching hate from the pulpits. And you wonder why your congregations are dwindling...

3. Quit acting like your skin color entitles you to special treatment. It doesn’t. You act like we’re one big group. Just as white people as a group do not accept the actions of a bad person of their pigmentation, we shouldn’t do it either. when you act like an idiot in public, expect society to treat you as an idiot. Got a problem with cops? News Flash: They shoot white people, too.

4. Lastly, and I want to say this in the most humble terms: If you really hate this country, think that it is racist to its core, there has never been a better time in our history for your to pack your things and go to ‘better’ country or continent of your choosing (notice I didn’t say Africa). But before you go, you might want to take a look at the masses of black folks also packing up to leave. Hint: There aren’t any. In fact, it’s just the opposite. You are IN the best country for black folks on the planet. This is why everyone’s trying to get in.

Listen, black people: The Democrats and a good chunk of Republicans have already written you off politically in exchange for a fresh batch of minorities. Many in the black community already see this, and are speaking out against it. You may not hear about it due to censorship by white people to claim to have your back.

Most of of actually have jobs (else TV commercials wouldn’t bother marketing to us). How about we start raising families? Becoming more responsible for ourselves instead of making an industry of demanding people you don’t like keep helping you? Quit making excuses for the animals destroying the community and get rid of them. Need help? work with the local cops instead of enforcing no-snitch policies.

And to the white people who think all black folks just sit around, vote democrat, and want handouts, you’re getting that from the media that you don’t believe anyway, but take their stereotypical stories about race as gospel. How about giving the rest of us a break? The media you hate won’t report stories about successful black folks unless it fits their agenda. To them, people like me DON’T EXIST.

Okay, I’ve said enough. Think I go visit a cemetery today and thank a few folks for making the ultimate sacrifice to protect my right to run my mouth like this. That’s what this weekend is about anyway, isn’t it?

that’s my $0.02
