HBO host Bill Maher said Friday that he is "hoping for" an economic collapse because that is the only way the president's opponents can "get rid of Trump."
Maher first asked guest Shermichael Singleton to asses the current economy under President Trump.
"It is going well," Singleton answered. "For now."
"Thank you, that’s my question,” Maher added. “I feel like the bottom has to fall out at some point, and by the way, I’m hoping for it."
"I think one way you get rid of Trump is a crashing economy. So please, bring on the recession. Sorry if that hurts people, but it’s either root for a recession or you lose your democracy.”
The economy appears to be improving under President Trump despite his ongoing trade war with both China and U.S. allies.
Earler in June, the unemployment rate fell to 3.8 percent, a 50-year low.
“Sorry if that hurts people” means “people other than me, that is, because I got mine”. Thanks for the compassion, Bill.
He's also extremely wealthy, a member of a guilded-age railroad family. Economic collapse won't affect him at all, except by creating lots of distressed real estate for his family's wealth managers to buy up for pennies on the dollar.

Did Maher’s sycophant crowd start cheering wildly for a recession after he said that? President Trump is a f*****g genius...he gets Dems to call MS-13 “humans”, defend women being called the “c-word”, say tax cuts are chump change, kneeling for the national anthem, and hoping for economic collapse...all in about a two week period.
I’m hoping to get rid of Trump too, but my plan is different.
In my plan, President Trump is replaced in a free and fair election in 2024. In my plan, even the democrats will have to pretend to be patriotic in that election, since the American people will have recognized our greatness by then (and in my fantasy world, by then there won’t be enough illegals to matter for elections).
The whole country is figuring out what sellout scum leftists like this dem mouthpiece is.

I think I’d rather watch a marathon of 1970s Chuck Barris produced shows (”1.98 Beauty Show” and “The Gong Show”) before I’d subject myself to five minutes of Maher.

Do tantrum throwing two year olds give logical reasons for throwing themselves on the floor and shrieking at the top of their lungs while drumming their feet on the floor?
What we need to understand is this: whether called liberals, progressives, or leftists, these people are narcissists who lack self-discipline and whose emotional mentality is on a level with five year olds. And because every moment of every day is their 'birthday,' we are expected to celebrate them, ooh and aah over them, be amazed by their 'greatness,' withhold nothing from them, expect nothing (i.e., work, gratitude) from them, and in every way selflessly serve them--be untiring slaves and floor mats for them.
But because we who occupy the conservative right are self-disciplined, mentally and emotionally mature adults, the destructive, genitalia obsessed, hate-fueled, out-of-control tantrum-throwing narcissists hate and fear us because they hate the idea of rules, norms, authority, self-discipline, order and social expectations of all of this..
In the same vein, I hope the US is entreated to a nuclear attack upon all major US cities, LA, SF, Seattle, Chicago, NY, Phillly, Baltimore, Atlanta, Houston, St. Louis.... and watch the Election Map turn blue in a sea of blood and guts and glory.
