Trumpism is winning, and that's terrifying
CNN Politics ^ | October 8, 2018 | Michael D'Antonio

Posted on 10/08/2018 12:58:55 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

To many, Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the US Supreme Court is not just a victory for President Donald Trump, but for Trumpism at large. And it is this fact that unsettles so much of the nation.

Trump's presidency is marked not by political ideology but by personality. As former Secretary of State Colin Powell, a Republican, told CNN's Fareed Zakaria, "We the people" has been replaced by "me the president." This Trumpian way of operating values winning over decency and power over unity. It is also a force that has proven to be both effective and infectious, and its malevolence is terrifying.

The infectious quality of Trumpism was demonstrated in Kavanaugh's weepy, indignant and self-righteous response to serious allegations of sexual misconduct in his youth. He railed against liberals and announced that he was the victim of "a calculated and orchestrated political hit." Kavanaugh even badgered Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar (for which he later apologized) and argued that his troubles were tantamount to a "national disgrace."

Kavanaugh's display, unworthy of anyone seeking a seat on the Supreme Court, was fully Trumpian in its emotion and intellectual distortions. He was joined, almost immediately, by a finger-wagging Sen. Lindsey Graham, whose snarling complaints came right out of the Trump playbook. "You're looking for a fair process?" Graham asked in a fit of pique. "You came to the wrong town at the wrong time, my friend."

No one personifies the triumph of Trumpism more fully than Graham. Formerly a leader of the more rational faction of the GOP, Graham once said, "You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell." But since the death of his friend and mentor, John McCain, Graham has embraced the Trump style in his rhetoric and approach to politicking....

Seriously - these people are as deluded or evil as it is possible to me.

Just more proof that CW2 is enroute.

I am firmly convinced that LIndsey awoke to the libs very real evil right in the same room with him.

Lindsey has known Justice K for 20 years. And I still think the senate JC knows something that has not been released.

At least he didn’t pick Mitt Romney or John Kerry as his next Batman.

Every word of Senator Graham’s speech was correct, heart-felt and sincere. He realized just how demonic the Left is and sounded like a FReeper.

As to your theory Madison became tied at the hip to Jefferson after TJ’s return from France and didn’t suffer much.

Leaders draw men to themselves, that is why they are leaders.

Well, Michael D'Antonio, I was sexually assaulted once and I'm certain you did it. Once I get a look at your picture and find out where you lived back then, I can fill in all the pesky little details like where it happened, description of the assailant, etc. Of course it was you, it is ridiculous to even try to claim otherwise. Women don't lie about these things.

Back in the real world, Kavanaugh has had a stellar record. Yeah, I'm not too concerned over the fact that he got angry when he was accused of multiple sexual assaults for which there was zero evidence and was the target of an orchestrated campaign of personal destruction. One could argue that someone being subjected to such treatment who does *not* respond emotionally has something seriously wrong with their mental state.

I can only repeat what I said. Any support for Trump's agenda in the Senate is a good thing from a strategic point of view. If by some freak event Chuck Schumer decided to support one of Trump's policy directions, we'd be stupid to turn down even Schumer's support on that particular issue.

That doesn't mean that I don't have questions about the soundness of mind of a man like Graham who spent years hanging on John McCain's every word (including blind hatred for Trump and Trump's supporters) only to turn on a dime to hang on Trump's every word instead. Graham is by nature spineless and effeminate, and can only work up courage or ideals vicariously by attaching himself to a suitably masculine figure. He may be useful (for now) but he still makes my skin crawl.

It is hilarious and shows conclusively the Goebbelsmedia panic at the way things are developing and it’s inability to lie its way back to credibility. The Suckers aren’t buying it anymore.

Trying to deny reality becomes more and more difficult. A Juggler can only handle so many bowling pins before they all come tumbling down. The fatal pin is about to be tossed into the farrago of lies.

A load of crap.

People have their eyes opened and react.

That speech is what clinched the confirmation of Kavanaugh.

He rose to the level of Greatness with that speech, all without the Big Boss Man theory.

After the Kenyanesian Usurpation of “I, I, I, Me, Me, Me”
Colon Bowell has a lot of nerve to say such a thing.

It’s all about protecting the fundamental transformation of America into North Mexico that was Poppy’s vision.
