If Black America went the way of the wisdom of Frederick Douglas, the USA would have turned out a much greater country. As it turns out, America is on the verge of implosion.
This statement seems only to allow racism to proceed, segregation wise.
If black aren’t liberated by now, and they have been for decades, they should just bag it. This “victim” status is only going to carry their lazy butts for so long, and I am done with it.

He could have probably made his entire argument in two simple sentences, but I think i agree with him. 1. If you face a problem, don’t waste energy focusing on those who oppose you, move forward immediately on actions that lead to a solution, starting with building a team of like minded people. 2. The people who will be part of a successful team are the doers, not the talkers, and they will have the skill sets that lead to success.
The author sees white folks as opponents, when it is the left that is blacks’ and everyone else’s opponents. He’s still in the black vs white mode when truly it is good vs evil.
White privilege is how a so-called progressive living in a McMansion in surburban Chicago ... or a THREE room flat in NYC ... would describe a white farmers living in the Dust Bowl.
But admitting that would imply that the cause of black failure might have something to do with black behavior, and inadequate striving to succeed. That is an intolerable idea.
There are plenty of black people who understand this, and some of them do speak out. Part of the problem is a mostly white, left-liberal media that is consumed with white liberal guilt and virtue signaling. The dominant media selectively promotes black voices that preach the lie. Another problem is cooptation, as competent black professional and business people can’t help but see the enormous career and financial advantages that attach to playing the victim card — not to mention the savage criticism levelled at black leaders who don’t toe the party line. It’s a nasty problem, but it’s also an emperor has no clothes situation. On my optimistic days, I think the whole vast structure of institutionalized racial grievance politics will crumble faster than the Soviet empire in Eastern Europe, once the right leader emerges. This is a real opportunity there for the taking. But that leader needs to come from within the black community.

I didn't read it as an attack upon all whites; but rather as a matter-of-fact acknowledgment that some blacks will experience opposition from some whites, to one degree or another, and the young person should look past it to his or her own goals and how to get there, obstacles notwithstanding.
What really struck me was the perception that there is no equal opportunity. I've had black friends tell me this in a different way: that all white people have it easy compared to them. Neither one is the reality.
Marxist/collectivist propaganda removes individual initiative from young people, first by insisting that they are powerless except for violent overthrow (and thus why bother to delay gratification in order to take effective long-range action); and secondly that they must not see other people as individuals—some of whom are a**h***s, but many of whom are open, tolerant, friendly and helpful, regardless of background.
I heard an estimate during the run-up to the presidential campaigns of '15-'16 to the tune of $20 trillion dollars, which coincidentally was the same number as the national debt. I don't know how true it was; presumably one adds up all the welfare programs, head start, food stamps and so forth alloted to blacks since the Civil Rights legislation of 1964 and one arrives at a very large number. And that's not counting the lost contributions by a people convince they could not succeed and should not try.
That said, I realize that racial prejudice was then and still is to a degree a real thing and a daunting thing. I experienced workplace sex discrimination myself as a white woman, still do; and discrimination and harassment are real and do greatly narrow the lifetime earning capacity of too many Americans, even though things have gotten better over time. Nevertheless, you have to start somewhere and do the best you can in your years of adulthood, no excuses. If you can't support a spouse or children, don't bring them into the picture.
The big fight between capitalism and communism is that there are losers in capitalism; however, in communism, everyone loses, everyone lives below potential. Which is better? I know what I choose, even having suffered the back of the hand so many times. With capitalism, most of the time there is still hope—of a brighter day and a second chance.
