Yes, of course. But before deciding the default answer for identifying something unknown is "it was built by an alien civilization and traveled 80,000 lightyears within the lifetime of its occupant to not make contact with us" perhaps we should show how that could be done.

My point isn't that there is no technology (maybe) or physics (definitely) beyond our understanding, it's just that that should be the outlier explanation after all others are exhausted. The automatic jump from "I don't know what that is" to "that's a craft from an interstellar alien race that travels easily through space and time" is illogical, captain.
