President Donald Trump on Monday berated calls for his impeachment ahead of House Democrats’ conference call to discuss the Mueller report, which makes damaging revelations about the president but has left many liberal lawmakers unconvinced that they should try to eject Trump from office.
“Only high crimes and misdemeanors can lead to impeachment. There were no crimes by me (No Collusion, No Obstruction), so you can’t impeach,” Trump said in a tweet. “It was the Democrats that committed the crimes, not your Republican President! Tables are finally turning on the Witch Hunt!”
Despite Trump's claim, Democrats could still move forward with an impeachment effort, which is a political process, not a law enforcement one.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s 448-page report details findings of the 22-month investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, but did not find sufficient evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin.
The report, however, also showed at least 10 instances where Trump may have obstructed justice, and Mueller ultimately did not reach a conclusion on whether the president committed a crime. Attorney General William Barr said in a letter to Congress last month that he would not pursue charges since it was clear it was not Trump’s “intent” to obstruct Mueller’s investigation, a call that has garnered fierce backlash from Democrats, claiming the nation’s top law enforcement officer was attempting to protect the president.

That’s how I read it.
He is afraid that they are mostly just all talk by certain dem presidential candidates, and that they wont really go through with it, but that he believes impeachment will be good for him politically, particularly for taking back the house.
Funny, there wasn't a peep out of those same dems when Comey judged Hillary didn't show "intent" to mishandle classified information.

I think he’s trolling Nadless here. Nadless knows he doesn’t have a case, yet he’s under extreme pressure to “do something about Trump”. And from the far-left fringe, to just flat out start impeachment proceedings.
Failing to “do something” puts his chairmanship at risk as those who see him blowing their one big chance get triggered.
Overreaching loses him the support of moderate Dems - especially in Trump districts - who nave to get reelected next year and know they have no accomplishments to run on.

The House can still impeach 0bama for not stopping the Russian.
They can impeach for farting in church, even if not proven.
IF they have the votes.
And they do not. And they will never.

I seriously doubt they will pursue impeachment, Trump’s lawyers could supoena the DNC servers among other things which they definitely don’t want. That’s why they are so hopping mad with Mueller, they wanted him to do their dirty work for them but he wisely punted that issue back to them to deal with. Rank and file dems want impeachment but Pelosi knows damn well it would open a can of worms and now she’s squirming to get out of doing it. Plus we just had 2 years of this witch hunt, another 18 months of investigation makes this witch hunt appear even more ridiculous and vindictive on their part possibly alienating independent voters. I doubt she will bring it.
He’s just getting them to do it so he can release all exculpatory information juuuust before the election.
Big word for 2019: DECLASSIFY! All President Trump needs to do is declassify the Fisa requests, the docs surrounding Seth Rich and Julian Assange and there would be more than enough news for Atleast FOX to report about. (Don’t know that talon abet channels could handle the truth).
The left sure are having a hard time sucking up their loss it’s going to get much worse for them the sting of truth to ensue.
That term is totally open to definition by those seeking impeachment. There is no USSC recourse if HC&M is defined as "bad haircut." Impeachment is purely a political act. Our Tradition says that only serious crimes are proper subjects of Impeachment but there is no Constitutional definition of what it takes and here HC&M is probably not amenable to recourse to the ideas of the Founders as the notions of what is crime and misdemeanor change over time and anything can be defined as such if not specifically protected in the Constitution.
