However, when/if put in a position of power, some are awful, dangerous and destructive... like some you have named.

Met Bill Clinton years ago.
It was at a friends house and a fundraiser for Nancy Pelosi re-election.
He had just had his bypass. Looked gaunt and was hawking his book.
Several people found out I was “The enemy “ and were upset.
I had been invited by friend, who paid my way. They are friends of Nancy.
Anyway, Nancy asked to grab her a beer. I laughed saying “I’ve known you a while and you don’t drink beer”
“Be a dear and grab one for both of us” she replied.
So, I grab these beers and she said a few words to a few people who were within arms length.
She then said it was wonderful to see me again, clinked her bottle to mine and smiling put her bottle to her lips.
Didn’t drink it but, everyone was very friendly for the rest of the day.
I even grabbed a plate of BBQ for her later, that the firemen had prepared.
Good day and she was a good sport.
I have other stories and my favorite is when I went to Arnold Schwarzenegger inauguration.
Some real jerks there and my friends took me to Caroline Kennedy reception.
Funny as hell, she is, as was the other Kennedys.
So, we walked together to the seats, with some of those “Dicks” mouths agape.
It was made more delicious when Caroline had us seated next to her on the 3rd row.
Hilarious, as the Mayor, Chief of Police, Sheriff and past Mayors of our city were seated 12 rows back.
Tom McHenry, former mayor of San Jose was being a punk all day and had to watch me and my friends sitting with the Kennedy’s .
