Strapping blades and the like on roosters is barbaric. Back when I kept chickens, we let them fight sometimes naturally. You got the entertainment value without the blood and gore, beyond a little blood drawn from pecking the combs or waddles.

Both combatants walked away and lived to fight another day.

We have a Rooster with 2” spurs. (Natural ones, I mean.) If he was as mean as our Bantam rooster...

(We keep them apart.)
