Authorities seized about 15,000 pounds of illegal fireworks and $1 million in cash after a months-long investigation across several Bay Area counties, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office announced this week.
Authorities arrested Jennifer Nguyen, 54, of San Jose and Sam San, 61, of San Francisco in connection to the sale and possession of illegal fireworks.
Search warrants were served this week in San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda and Santa Clara counties as part of the investigation.
Fireworks are illegal in San Mateo County and authorities warn of fines up to $1,000.
To report fireworks in San Mateo County, residents are asked to call 650-363-4911.
That much probably enters from Mexico every day.
No F-15s or nukes?
“Authorities seized about 15,000 pounds of illegal fireworks...”
Our heroes!
That sucks. The illegal fireworks are the best ones.
What is this, crap all over the Asians in San Mateo week?
Fireworks were a part of the Asian culture long before San Mateo was Saint Mathew.
Here in ‘Bama, I got a fireworks store two miles from me. They sell everything but ICBM’s. Some of their inventory is BIG. Fourth of July week is license to set off explosives 24/7. The cops don’t even respond to domestic noise complaints unless someone starts a fire or hits a house.
When I read the healine I just knew that this has to be Kalifornication. Illegal fireworks? That is an exercise in conflict. Insanity!
Waiting for Biden’s DOJ to come in and hit her with Federal explosive charges and trying to find some way also get her as a conservative domestic terrorist for trying to assist Americans to celebrate America’s anniversary.
Fireworks at 4th of July is cool. Sane use of fireworks at other times, is always cool.
Fireworks at 3am on a weekday isn’t cool. Fireworks landing on rooftops, aimed at cars, landing in yards and trees, and aimed at pedestrians ala last summer in the city, are very not cool.
Knocking off the competition so Slow Joe won’t have to use his F-15s and nukes on those White and Yellow domestic terrorists.
